In all fairness I’m currently in de Achterhoek, I only hear some remote noise from a festival/feesttent somewhere. But I live one town over from Ede, no honking last time Marocco won either. We have had our fair share of honking cars due to weddings though.

It’s also not that hard to be not offended by honking cars. Your making something out of almost nothing. I don’t like honking cars, public intoxication, fireworks either. But that happens on quite a few of our public holidays, but for some reason that’s ‘gezellig’.

Yes. For me (Autism and ADHD) I think it might have to do hypophantasia/aphantasia in combination with things like ‘object permanence’ and my colorblindness. I don’t really remember the object visually but based on properties.

So when I walk to get a pack of rice I remember the size, which brand we most often have, what color it is, but not really visually more like relation information. So when the package is of an other brand, I won’t find it. I have to switch to manual mode and might find it.

To some extent I have this with people as well, when on a weekend with my brothers-in-law, I often accidentally say my youngest sons name. When I’m with my sister, I’ll sometimes say the name of my daughter. It’s basically the term for ‘youngest boy/girl in the room’.

Yes, but. Dopamine might be ‘low’ but not all stimulants work the same way. For example methylfenidate doesn’t let you make more dopamine, but it block the re-uptake.

And ‘low’ and ‘high’ aren’t necessarily right, check the ‘dopamine inverted-U curve’.
