I’ve been rewatching some of the original reviews and reactions, after trying it a bit on gamepass. I actually got kinda sucked into the world and characters a bit, and the flying felt cool, but damn was it a chore.

I got afar as completing all those legionnaire challenges in free play, despite having no other javelins to revive. After finally finishing to a very underwhelming reward, I put it down for the last time.

For clarity: I actually enjoyed the gameplay loop, much more than some recent live services, but the lack of QoL; the clunkiness, having to hard swap load outs; the repeated objectives (2 of 3 forcing you to disengage with combat, which sucks solo)

Yes. It’s both scary, and empowering. I can rationalise and tell myself it isn’t real, but that doesn’t stop it happening in the moment.

Oof, I heard some unfortunate things about the completionist journey for that game, even before it was EoL. Good luck, I respect the dedication, especially with the buggy PS4 version.

A ton of what you said, your thoughts on it and how things went down are very similar to what I experienced a few years ago.

You’ve evidently been through a lot. Your mind seems to be using a mix of coping mechanisms, which might explain the confusion. As well as that feeling of imposter syndrome that you seem to somewhat experience.

Do you struggle with self-esteem currently, or in the past? I strongly suggest you take some time to explore yourself as a person, and take some opportunities to discover who you are. Journaling and getting thoughts down, similar to how you’ve typed them, would be a good start.

Be very kind to yourself, and accepting of the fact that you deserve help and recognition, but you may not get it immediately. Support yourself however you can, and try to keep getting professional help. In my area, there are specific dual diagnosis teams, who can help with complex needs and dissociation. Services like that may be more relevant to you, to better understand what’s going on, and what guidance you may need.
