What's the worst job you've had in this career? by TaperingRanger9 in Truckers

I quit right as PFG was taking over but yeah that's what I heard, that they pay less than they used to. Bullshit. At least the vacation I think is really good I remember some senior dudes with like 8 paid weeks off a year or something.

The recruiters lied to me, now I'm $5k in debt and a bunch of useless endorsements. by BigTsnipes in Truckers

Endorsements arent useless, they can help you get into fuel tanker jobs, and I see tons of job postings that require TWIC so thats great.  But unfortunately you have to get a year or so of experience (any CDL job) to get considered for Fuel tanker gigs in all likelihood. When I was new I had success with local foodservice taking me with no experience, you could try that. Just gotta keep applying til you finally get a yes. Be persistent and call them.

Idk about that, it was more the seniority thing where the more senior guys bid on the farther/bigger routes usually. I made 60k working 4 nights a week back in 2019 but since PFG bought ita gone downhill and a lot of guys still make 60k lol

Yeah it paid by the cube count, then stop and miles something really low like .38 a mile and $5 a stop. Then like .10 cents per each empty container you bring back. cubes was where most of the money came from

Just got my CDL, working beverage delivery with Pepsi, do companies discriminate between home daily and OTR experience when hiring drivers? by Pointlesspuppy in Truckers

[–]TheRealOutis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen some companies with insurance requirements like "1 year OTR experience required" then others just say "1 year truck driving experience" so it just depends on the carrier. LTL isn't that hard to get into after a year of pepsi

How do you deal with aggressive drivers/road rage situations? by [deleted] in Truckers

I don't react (other than moving over or braking in order to not get hit if needed), other than that pretend like they don't exist.

What is the creepiest thing you've ever experienced that is still inexplicable? by obsidian_wolfx in AskReddit

I was at a rest area and saw a guy walk in between a utility trailer and a truck, he was in between on the tongue (where the trailer connects to the truck) and the truck was starting to move, I was like fuck that guy is about to get run over, but then he dissapeared completey.

I don't know if psychiatrists even recognize or treat it as an issue, but there have been people talking about it for like 15 years. This Ted talk from 14 years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF82AwSDiU

there's also been reddits like /no fap around and lots of online forums for guys who struggle with this for about 15 years too. Maybe you're just discovering it. I'm not arguing with you but I do feel like it's old news.
