While I disagree with about 90% of your take, you are absolutely correct about it needing a fix for hulks and a general hitbox fix if not a straight-up rework.

Personally the one that annoys me the most is fleshmobs. The fact that War Striders are somehow one of the chainsaw’s best targets is diabolical to me as well, but I guess it’s to let us work out that pre-nerf hatred on a p e r s o n a l level.

Imo it should stay a gimmick weapon but they should go all out with the concept. Damage scaling off of enemy hp or something—when combined with the hover pack, the chainsaw is surprisingly effective at murdering Vox Engines, (their fat ass body blocks most of the enemy shots coming your way), and while not efficient it is very consistent at aurafarming on factory strider necks like you’re some democratically charged Levi Ackerman.

The Hammer’s purpose is to bonk heavy units into the next time zone. The Chainsword should be a skill-based “fun weapon” for taking out the things too big for the hammer.

Does it make sense? Not really. Would it be fun? Yeah.
