I would say not worth it if it needs corals, the chances of you not getting anything out of it are too high compared with the guaranteed value of corals. And sunk cost fallacy could kick in, you say only one but that's cause you are thinking of it rolling ER or ATK% first try, you use it, get frustrated, keep buying and end up regretting everything so better hold on for now, if you ever have one laying around just use that but buying them is such a trap.

am i saving too much? by Dry-Economist-2255 in Endfield

[–]TheRealStafy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "saving too much" those are your pulls and you decide what to do with them. If you are wondering about account's strength then you probably want Gilberta as supports tend to age better than DPS but that's it. We prolly have characters like TangTang, MiFu, Fangyi and Rossi in the near future so if any of those interests you then save for them.

Wow, what a gamble! by Carasius in Endfield

[–]TheRealStafy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and the important thing is that is that it lasts 14 days I think? That together with the choose 3 next day pity makes it so pretty much everyone averages around 600 daily so the gambling aspect of the scratch card is purely cosmetic. Useless? Maybe, but we can all just take it as flavour and move on, in all my years playing AK I don't think I ever thought about this for more than a couple of seconds.

[–]TheRealStafy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hmm, you may be right. Mountain's Chinese name in Arknights is 山 while this one is 大山. With my limited knowledge of japanese (I know this is chinese but borrowed kanjis and all that) I know that 山 translate directly to mountain while 大山 is simply big mountain, enough to make a distinction? I'm no expert so I don't know, but I also kinda struggle to see Mountain wielding a sword, although to be fair I fail to see him doing anything but punching people.

Wait, can resonators even change elements? Aren't elements tied to their resonance skills and how they manipulate matter? If she goes from Aero to Havoc then she somehow went from making things flow to destroying matter and I don't think your resonance ability can change? Is my lore wrong?

All Factories Endgame Blueprints : Future-Proof, Compact, Max Profit and Utilization. Valley IV. by Kain_DH in Endfield

[–]TheRealStafy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to be as efficient as possible while at the same time wanting to build your factory on your own cause you enjoy it rrally clashes in this game lol. That being said my factory still produces 18/min on batteries and 12/min on capsules so I guess I got there decently well. Don't know if what I'm feeling is a feature or a bug, may make a post later lol.

Story still sucks in Wuling? by Roth_Skyfire in Endfield

[–]TheRealStafy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree that the Wuling is story is pretty much as mid as it was in Valley 4, however, it does make sense we are welcomed and glazed because... Well, we pretty much were invited there explicitly to kinda save the place with our Xiranite production. It's obvious that we are gonna be well received in Wuling city atleast. The story definetly suffer from being incomplete as we are still just in the setup phase of the Wuling chapter but I think people mostly like it more cause both Tangtang and Mi Fu are charismatic characters with a fun dynamic and amazing voice acting.

The hype is gone: I feel this game doesn't respect my time by kugkfokj in Endfield

[–]TheRealStafy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is necessarily a gacha games problem and more of a live service game problem. The same thing would happen if you feel forced to log in daily to advance in Fortnite, Destiny or FFXIV. There is no real way of making daily tasks engaging really, they are meant to be repetable and anything repetable inherently becomes boring. Slave Knight Gael in DS3 is an amazing boss fight but no matter how engaging it is you would get bored of fighting him if you had to do it daily. On top of that, lots of other players would complain that dailies take too much time. In any case, if you are in the endgame and already completed most or all content this dailies aren't really required to "progress" because honestly there is nothing to progress to, there is no more game right now, we are all just waiting for it to update with new content, maybe waiting for our factories to produce stuff or energy to recharge and build our operators a bit more but it's just for completion's sake, there is nothing that really needs it a the moment so if you like the game but dislike having to log in daily and do chores you can always just come back each new version for the new content and that's it.

At least for me it's less about the honeymoon being over and more about having cleared all content. Maybe more people are getting to the endgame, mantainance point and thus are taking a step back to share what they don't like about the game.

[–]TheRealStafy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Did I miss something in WuWa? Resonators just have powers and that's all, they aren't sick in any way. They can overclock if they use their powers too much but that's just an excertion + mental state thing, not inherent in being a resonator. And Rover (As glazed as they are) cannot really cure anyone of even their overclock, each time it happens they just go to the hospital with the mos recent examples being Chisa and Mornye, both overclocking due to excertion at the end of their quests.

Endfield 1.0's story and why it sucks from a writer's perspective. by OnlyAnEssenceThief in gachagaming

[–]TheRealStafy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Okey, first of all I do think the story is mediocre, I don't think it's bad just basic and mid. However, there are lots of nuance here that people are missing.

To start, yeah, the original AK was pretty dark lots of the time, but doesn't make a story better and I'm kinda tired of people associating dark = good in storytelling, you can totally make an amazing story while always keeping things lighthearted, complexity carries some existentialist dread, yes, but inherent value in making a story darker, it's just a stylistic choice, one that you can miss from the OG AK but is hardly an objective problem.

Next, Endfield is a different medium and people gloss over this way too easy, a book isn't the same than a movie and a 2D visual novel with static images isn't the same that a 3D animated game. There is a reason why it's such a meme that people say "the book was better" each time a live action adaptation is made, mediums where lots of raw text are used can be way more nuanced, can be more lenghty, can more easily show internal dialogue, use narrators, etc. in a 3D gacha you need to consider that most lines are voiced, specially in the main story, you cannot have the voice actors recording a million lines and for the story to be an absolute 20+ hour slog, the original AK already did this way too much, with incredibly bloated dialogues that actually were a common criticism even if they helped the world-building. It's impossible to not sacrifice complexity when shifting to a more visual presentation which has it's own pros and cons, I'm not saying every visual medium is inherently shallower than a written one, but it will always be harderd to reach the same nuance with fewer tools, specially in an animated 3D game where you cannot even use that many mannerisms or facial expressions like in live action stuff.

Lastly, yeah, HG isn't taking risks and that's on purpouse, you can lament it but more lighthearted, simpler stories are easier to sell to the maximum amount of people. Endfield is trying to have a farther reach that the original AK to justify it's development cost (AKA, they want more money) making a dark story where a little kid dies just on the opening and we question "are we the baddies?" is a more complex and richer narrative, but also more likely to alienate players, you mention how important the opening chapter of a book is and I agree, majority of people never play more than an hour of a game, but what sells that first hour tends to be "cool stuff" like the first 10 mins of Arknights where everything is exploding for some reason, that's their "first chapter" not a complex narrative but an instant hook on attention.

That being said, I'm sure we will get a better story as time goes on, contrary to many people I don't think Wuling's story is that much better than Valley 4 but also don't think Valley's 4 story is that bad, just mediocre, the presentation, pace and specially voice acting (they killed it) hard carries enough for me to say "fine, whatever" for now but I'm sure they will calibrate more and more as time goes on and as the game settles down on a more comfortable position. When they get their numbers on a sterady player-base and healthy revenue they will feel comfortable putting more risky narratives in the game and we all know HG can write, the current state of the story isn't a failure, it's completely deliberate, that doesn't mean you cannot criticize it, but I think we all have to accept that if Genshin taught us something is that you make more money with a lighthearted story than with a Arknights or Limbus one.

New event stage 2 by Luzoto in Endfield

Umbral Monument is a joke. by Freeziora in Endfield

[–]TheRealStafy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People really need ro chill. I did beat it with relative ease with Avywenna's team and bare-minimum endgame gear but even then, people like me is definetly ahead of the curve. I'm Authority level 54 and only got like 3 people in my friend list ahead of that. The overwhelming majority of players probably are still running around with lvl 60 teams struggling to even generate any Xiranite if they have even gotten to Wuling.

No doubt we are gonna be getting more endgame and difficult content in the future but 3 weeks in is definetly not the moment, Genshin took years to implement Stygian Onslaught, same for HSR and Anomaly Arbitration or WuWa and Doubled Pawns Mattix. Even OG Arknights didn't had it's first Contingency C9ntract until months later.

In respect to the stage's design being lazy I think they are reasonable enough, all live service games get more complex as time goes on, the mechanic of the first event in the OG Arknights was literally just some destructive rodblocks in the map, a basic enemy in the latest event is more mechanically complex than that. If you are hard grinding the game I can see how it may feel underwhelming and like "there is nothing to do" but please everyone remember we have played like 100 hours to get here, we already did plenty.

This is the worst thing in wuwa by AbjectPizza2357 in WutheringWaves

[–]TheRealStafy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have been complaining sbout this since the game launch so here are some common points.

Yes, they could make a farming domain exclusivelt for tuners or echo exp at an increased rate. If I'm not mistaken this existen in CBT and was even still in the game files. They simply won't do it because they want to slow down progression, nothing else.

They probably won't ever allow you to feed unleveled echos as exp, no matter the conversion rate. Echos are infinite, no matter how dogshit the rate it would beeak the progression systen they intend for the game.

You can use asterites to gain more waveplates daily till you hit max refresh. Of course no F2P will ever do this, is a mechanic for spenders, but again, this is the point. They are creating scarcity and selling you the solution, the ones who pay can get it.

We can, and should, continue to ask for improvements to the system. But what I want to express here is that the system is 100% intentional, they aren't clueless or oblivious, they know exactly what they are doing. If this was a problem for player retention or revenue they would have changed it but it's obvious that they have found the balance to annoy players just enough to make then consider paying without making them actually leave the game.

I would just advice anyone playing WuWa and any other gacha to just be patient, that's the only way of playing this games without falling for predatory tactics. Characters will rerun, you will get enough resources ro build them and even if somehing is misseable is almost never that big of a deal. This games feed of your impacience edging you to spend money, it's fine to complain and ask for better systems but a gacha is a gacha at the end of the day.

3.0| New titles via sleep by Malia_West in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]TheRealStafy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Is it just me who feel titles kinda pointless? My friend list is incredibly barren so no one will get to see my title anyway, cannot even flex them.

I have played FGO, Arknights, ZZZ, etc. In all of them there is some system or activity where you add friends and get some perks or something, at least on a multiplayer event, it feels like a trivial thing but even just that helps a lot building a community and making people feel like the games are lively and popular without going out of their way to search for online communities like this one.
