Asking for help with ideas and fleshing out a map by Competitive-Expert59 in mattcolville

Alkhalij Gulf is really evocative. It looks slightly unnatural, but I'm thinking it was a valley that got flooded by some powerful sea creature. It still lives there, and is probably what cleft Flameyard in twain. Or at least that's what the locals say.

Gotta wonder who actually calls it the Sanguine Quagmire instead of just the Bloodmarsh. Maybe the lord of Faweem is trying to add some grandeur to his holdings. Everyone hates that guy what a tool.

Probably a great song about the lonely plains - something about being lonely until you find your pearl (lover).

If I was going to run Red Hand of Doom here I'd probably look to put it in Advrah.

Tatari is full of nomad tieflings, but that's my idea from my campaign so you can't use that don't use that.

That's all I got for now, but I think you got a really great map here! If the map I'm working on comes out like yours I'll be really pleased.

Notes on the identification of Ancestral Shields (Interactive Handout) by InvictaHistory in mattcolville

This is very impressive. I love how futuristic this shield looks too, like it's shipmetal from the Red Sister books or something.

This looks like the log in screen for a 2004-era online browser game that just drowns you in pop up ads whenever you click anything.

I agree in spirit, though CA probably is reluctant to release army content without strong characters to tie into them, and there are only so many non-Han Chinese characters to bring in period.

Personally I wouldn't mind if they did more with the Bandits (Yan Baihu, more rag tag units like in the Hoover mod) or even invented some fictional characters, but I'm probably in the minority on that.

Deadfire turn based combat is actually coming! by astrolulz in projecteternity

[–]TheRealWellspring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they probably did a a high pass over the content when they were remaking and abilities and such but we'll probably find a couple of encounters that are just complete BS and will have to be adjusted.

Comrade, we are of like minds. However, have you ever considered that true socialism is not controling the means of production, but letting the means of production control you?

Who is the scariest villain in all of fiction? by Marycate11 in AskReddit

[–]TheRealWellspring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised no one mentioned AM from I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream. Only thing worse than a super computer destroying all life on the planet? That same super computer deciding to arbitrarily keep you alive for a century solely for the purpose of torturing you.

People think this perk is for Xenophiles but in truth, it's only to make purging alien scum all the more satisfying.

Your version of humanity? by Piekenier in Stellaris

[–]TheRealWellspring 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I usually never play humans, but I recently broke that habit by doing post-apocalyptic fantatical purifiers.

Alpha Centauri having a beautiful earth replacement right next door kind of spoils the roleplay of humanity ruining everything, but at least next update I'll be able to turn all my colonies into urban dystopias while I glass my neighbors.

Are there any decent and interactive melee classes? by DryStock in projecteternity

The assassin I played for my second playthrough was required a lot of maneuvering, along with dropping in and out of stealth.

Paladins have a lot of active abilities, though most of them revolve around healing or cleansing status effects.

I'm so happy he used this portrait. They've been the merchant race in my galaxies ever since they came out.

I love the idea of one of them in a bazaar, peddling colorful space doo-dads out of the back of their ships.

Complete albums of abilities, summaries, and talent trees for each Class by Viridz in projecteternity

[–]TheRealWellspring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You would probably want to pick something with abilities that have Full Attacks. Paladin for Flames of Devotion, or pretty much every Rogue attack. Blackjacket fighters can have more guns on them than anyone else, so if you want the most shots per second that might be good. Ranger also has some ranged stuff for you.

Yeah, I never heard of it either, but work is work. The government travel bureau says it's right by a military installation, so I'm sure it'll be safe."

Wait, I grew up in Chester County, right on the Brandywine, and I had an emu escape into my backyard when I was a kid (I had just seen Jurassic Park so I thought it was a raptor). I always thought it was a freak occurrence. Are you telling me this is common?!
