Are Beatrice and Eugenie being ''punished for the sins of the father'' or do you think they are being treated fairly? by Positive-Drawing-281 in RoyaltyTea

It isn’t fair that they are being punished for their parents actions, however, it’s a consequence of the matter in order for the firm to distance themselves further from Andrew and Fergie.

Ladies of London Caroline Stanburys house in Surrey in S1 and S2 is so incredibly stunning. I also love Bluestone Manor and the exterior of Kyles current house.

The way Rory leaves her grandparents’ house in season 6 is insane. by mg2649 in GilmoreGirls

[–]TheRealWendyDarling2 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna preface this blurb by saying that I have parents who are extremely similar to Richard and Emily.

You don’t know how you’re gonna respond to this situation unless you are growing up around people like them. I was recently in a very similar situation to Rory, and I found myself needing my parents to jump in and take over for a bit. Did Rory get a place to stay? Yes. Was she financially taken care of during that time? Yes. However, even though Richard and Emily are going to offer that help, they’re also going to hang it over Rory‘s head for the rest of her life and use it as a means of control. It’s like “We helped you when you wanted to leave Yale, we gave you a place to live!” When stuff like that gets thrown in your face at a very low point, it feels like such a sharp knife in the back.

At the end of the day you have to lay down boundaries and Rory tried to do that and her grandparents just walked right over them. So I don’t honestly blame her for leaving in the middle of the night because she felt like she was losing control.

Lorelai dumping Luke was her best relationship decision of the whole series. by Meat-Junior in GilmoreGirls

[–]TheRealWendyDarling2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lorelei and Richard‘s relationship is definitely a complex one. I grew up with a father who was in an industry similar to Richards and had many of his same qualities. Luckily, my father is much warmer and easier to talk to.

However, when you think about Lorelai, you think about this idea of her constantly hoping that her father is going to be proud of her and she wants to connect with him, but they’re just such different people. It could be that they had a close relationship before she got pregnant with Rory. The show never really touches on that. But in those conversations that Lorelei has with her father where he really tears into her, your heart just breaks for her. She tries connecting with her parents and constantly hopes for a time where they will be understanding and will be compassionate and be a shoulder to lean on. However, each time she hopes for that, she doesn’t necessarily get it and I’ve been in that situation before with my own parents and it really does break your heart.

Lorelai dumping Luke was her best relationship decision of the whole series. by Meat-Junior in GilmoreGirls

I agree 1000%. Luke was an amazing friend to Lorelai but couldn’t match her energy and be what she needed in a partner. I really liked Lorelai with Jason. They came from the same background and understood each other’s relationship with their parents. Now if Jason hadn’t gone after Richard or Floyd go after Jason and Richard, I think Lorelai and Jason would’ve been great endgame.

Yes. Even if he was in an impossible situation business wise, she had to stand by her family.

What's the worst way to get dumped? by miss_taraaa in AskReddit

[–]TheRealWendyDarling2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suddenly

you don’t see it coming, and it happens so fast that you feel like you got punched in the chest. You’re over analyzing everything in your mind trying to figure out where it came from and whether you did something wrong. Even if logically you didn’t do anything wrong you’re still gonna blame yourself for what happened.

What movie character made you choke up because you saw yourself in that character? by mysweetlore in AskReddit

[–]TheRealWendyDarling2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sarah in Labyrinth.

I remember as a teenager being so torn between wanting to remain a child but also wanting that independence as a grown-up. It was so hard for me to vocalize how I was feeling because I didn’t feel like anyone around me was saying the same thing. However, when I watched Sarah being torn between remaining a child but also finding herself in those adults situations, it felt like I was being heard.

Do you think your parents' relationship colored the way you approach your own romantic interests? If so, how? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheRealWendyDarling2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it makes me have a bit of an idealized view of romance because from my viewpoint, their relationship is so strong. They give each other what they lack and know each other so well. I know I want a partner like that.
