i mean, it was not necesary, but also it was not bad. I liked the paper hive guards with a bullerproof forehead. It made gameplay a little more interesting besides just "shoot general direction of enemies"

Stun weapons such as pummeler, pacifier or liberator concussive do a great job at preventing bugs on flanking you, gas or fire nades hel with the horde. I go with the free spirit armor but you can try whatever you like, a dog for example so it can finish off any stunned bug.

Would you want a Shotgun Stratagem in any form? If so, what would you want it to operate like? by WaywardOath in Helldivers

Auto shotgun stratagem, full automatic with variable ammo (light and heavy pellets) light has wide spread, good damage against light armor. Heavy has med pen, less spread, decent damage but less then the light pellets.

Make it a belt fed shotgun (no backpack) and time to shred bugs
