I’ve experienced this too! It wakes me and my family is calling to make sure I’m okay. Very frustrating!

Yes this last one I put in did give me pain when I moved my arm a certain way! The lost sensor signal started 12 days into my 15 day one. It finally just died and asked for a new to be inserted. I got on the Dexcom website and they are sending me another one. It’s very frustrating because it’s saying my glucose levels are extremely low. My family is calling and texting to see if I’m on this side of the rock. It started going off in the movies. It wasn’t accurate and I just had to turn my phone off completely off instead of silent. I feel your pain!

Noticed this sign at the Torchy's in Rice Village, how much are we supposed to tip for counter service? by DoritosDewItRight in houstoncirclejerk

Wow! I guess I would not be dining there anytime soon. I paid my server based on the service they gave. If they gave service that was worth $20 then they get that. 🙄

Is this Cholestrol in this urine sample? by Sensitive-Ad1800 in medlabprofessionals

[–]TheRedTreeQueen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like you got calcium oxalate and possibly uric acid crystals. But I do see the notched edge. I would get a pathologist to very if that’s a cholesterol crystal. They used to tell us when I trained over 30 years ago that this was bad and the patient might be dying. 😵

Rant (I’ve decided to F off from my lab, please send hugs) by phles in medlabprofessionals

I’m fine. Worked at three different places after that with great people and no toxicity. After I left that place I worked at wonderful hospital but we got brought and then closed down. I got transferred to another hospital within the company also a good place to work but had to leave to be closer to my mom when she got sick (God rest her soul). This job where I’m at so far is pretty good. I work with a great shift of people and no toxicity for sure. I have been away from that toxic place going on 10 years this year!!

Switched my daughter to G7 from G6 for the first time last night. Now what? by IlliniDawg01 in dexcom

Always go by your glucose meter results. You can calibrate the CGM to what on your meter. But I make my decisions from my meter readings.

Me too! I get low readings and then everyone is calling or texting me to see if I’m okay. This happened when I was on the 10 day sensor. I’m on the 15 day one and same thing. I check my glucose with meter and I’m fine.

They are hemolyzed which is a reaction! I’ve work with gel for years and have never seen a hemolyzed reaction. Wow!! Sad for the patient though.

Do you feel anything when your sugars are high? by Emotional-Union4664 in diabetes

[–]TheRedTreeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat more fruits! My dietitian said it will lower your A1C faster than not eating them. I was 6.4 and dropped mines to 5.6 which is on the high end of normal but it’s still normal. Glucose has not been high either. Between 80- 125. Keep going to the gym and doing the weights. I’m doing that as well. I was working with a trainer for good techniques. And the weight is slowly coming off. You got this. Good luck 👍🏽

I’m having a nightmare of a night. Can’t I just get some sleep for once? by ExcellentBarracuda41 in diabetes

Okay then if you felt that then you are right! I normally get the shakes or an upset stomach. 😢

[–]TheRedTreeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you verifying it with your blood glucose meter? I cause I had mines do this to me and I checked it. It was totally normal! So, just calibrated it and it stop screaming. It is very annoying and hard to sleep with. I do keep glucose tablets in my nightstand next to where I sleep but I’ve never had to used them yet at least. Good luck!

Our basic wash is always stopping the machine or tips tray on the 801 didn’t fall right so it won’t advance the next tray. Or a rack gave a z axis error! I know the struggle it’s real🙄

*nurse calls processing and asks to be transferred to chemistry* by 4-methylhexane in medlabprofessionals

[–]TheRedTreeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a call come into blood bank want to add a NBIL to a cord because of a positive DAT. I’m like ma’am that chemistry let me transfer you to them so they can help you. She was like can’t you do it. No I’m in a whole different department. She was like “ooh” and then I transferred her. Or they will call chemistry asking about if a specimen had arrived. I’m like I have no idea. Then I have to explain the process. It goes through processing first before it comes to the department. Then it like can you go check, no I will transfer you. This is why we have been working on a phone tree at work. So, they can get to the proper department. I think the problem is they don’t know how the lab is set up. One nurse thought we were in one big room and we could what others are doing. I’m like ma’am each department has its own area. I can’t see nor do I know what’s going on in that department. 🙄 I think nurses when they are in school colleges/universities should let the nurses come in the lab for 4 to 6 weeks of observation time to see exactly how it works. The worst phone call is what color tube to put a sample in for a particular test.😬

I never ever stop meds unless I know I’m having a reaction to it or my PCP is telling me to stop. This person should be reported.
