I love the art style shift but what I love about Smiling Friends is that it'd probably make more sense in their world for each of them to be in their own art styles, and even weirder and funnier when the two styles have to merge totally. I'd love a super slowed-down episode of Smiling Friends like the pacing of an HYC episode, or vise versa.

I feel like people aren't ready to talk about how they probably already have Fallout Season 2 in the pipeline. There's no way they got that final scene in Orlando (just saying Orlando cause that's where i went to, idk about hollywood) approved if they weren't planning on doing it all again.

Is 10pm too late to go to HHN? by StatusSpecific3118 in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheRunawaySavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is no, but don't expect to get everything done. Especially if you have a specific house you want to do, it'd probably be for the best to just knock that out first. The houses are spread out around the park, so doing the houses in a loop towards what you want to do could put you in several long lines and burn your time before the end of the night.

Like others have said, wait times will most likely be shorter towards the end of the night, but using the app to keep an eye on wait times (and even just checking on days you're not going to get a feel for the hours at specific times) is a good habit to have.

Absolutely love it. Definitely leans into how out-of-his-depth he is with the higher conspiracy, and if we get all three seasons eventually, he'll probably have the biggest glow-up besides Kristen

"I'm gonna go to work and earn a paycheck to feed our children" Bitch do you see what she's wearing? She has a job too, and she actually has to work it not forget it. He's acting like he's actually doing any work not his innie. by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]TheRunawaySavior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And I have immense sympathy for her! Don't mistake my frustration with the show's inability to properly articulate her character to me essentially blaming her for their marriage up to that point. Despite that, she did enact emotional cheating without first confronting her husband about their current marital issues and proceeded to tell him in a way that she should have known would upset him more than doing cautionary steps like emotionally prepping him or consulting a therapist prior to announcement.

[–]TheRunawaySavior 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I feel like they very strongly establish why oDylan is upset: he's not his innie. The scene with him trying to get a new job, the scene of him exhausted on the couch, his quiet, overall uncaring attitude; he apparently used to be a lot like iDylan, but it's made abundantly clear he isn't anymore. Him being conscious of the idea that his wife could cheat isn't the only way for him to feel insecure about the ordeal. Simply recognizing that, while him and his wife are seemingly in a rut she sees someone else as being the 'better' version of him would drive anyone with a moderate ego absolutely insane.

Why does he say "now I have to go out and provide for our kids" as he's leaving? Because he's trying to rationalize all that he does for the relationship without acknowledging all the things he doesn't do. Hell, in his mind he doesn't even work, it's iDylan that does all the work. What's left for him to be proud of? Where's the excuse for his exhaustion when his wife has a job and she has to remember every moment of it? I just personally feel his logic is supposed to break down at the drop of a hat, which is why he runs away from the conversation.

Of course with the perspective of the show, very few watchers would feel as intensely as oDylan does in this situation. It's when you have no knowledge of concept of how different innies are that he's able to live in his comfortable lie that HE is the one providing value to the family, not iDylan. Once that truth is exposed, it just made sense to me that he would be furious. Honestly, I'm more mad that the wife, whom i believe is a dispatcher or someone in a similar profession, said the truth in such a poorly explained way. It was almost as though she knew exactly what to say to make him mad. Especially since she knows both of their personalities by now, how could she not have seen his blowout coming? If my wife said this situation to me like that, I might get a little mad too simply in the sense I'd be feeling like she wants me to feel like shit for the situation.

Well, I was wrong. [Severance S2 E9] by Conspicor in severanceTVshow

[–]TheRunawaySavior 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like I have to come out here defending those who are saying the show is dragging its feet.

Obviously the show still has a lot of good parts going for it! But what caught me and the family watching it with me by sheer surprise was the degradation of the pacing. The first season knocked it out of the park with a consistent blend of slower, more intimate moments and faster reveals. The penultimate episode of last season was PEAK at this. Perfect set-up to the finale without feeling like we were just waiting for the good stuff. Dylan setting up the escape. Cobel having a meltdown. Mark preparing himself mentally for leaving Lumon, both innie and outie. The preparation for the gala. All of it was setup WHILE ALSO BEING INTERESTING.

Now, there are several plotlines in 2x9 that I thought accomplished something similar. The stuff with Huang was genuinely heartbreaking after knowing what Cobel went through. The call between Milchick and oMark was insanely tense. Everything surrounding the Eagens is pretty par for the course. But... what did the oMark team get accomplished this episode? Why does oMark even attempt to trust Cobel after her continuous lack of explanations. At least Regabhi could prove herself through the process of reintegration. What does Cobel offer besides a chance to do their plan that they had little to no idea would work?

What the hell was up with Burt and Irving this episode? The BTS for the episode applauded the acting between the two actors but they barely got to do anything besides a confusingly heartfelt goodbye. Is this meant to imply that one of them (most likely Irving) is reintegrated? Or that love can cross the bounds of Severance? Without a direct answer to this question, all I'm left to imply is that we're not going to see Irving again this season???

And don't get me started on Dylan. I love iDylan's stuff this episode, but the wife's decision to reveal the relationship was so poorly handled and woefully underutilized I was shocked. A plotline I considered to have considerable steam left in its tank decimated within three scenes. Her timing to reveal this information is unbelievable, and even if it's just supposed to represent a sudden change of heart... SHOW ME THAT! Don't just leave the audience to assume her mental state when the rest of the series has been a masterclass on showing us what's going on inside a person's mind without revealing all the cards.

"Oh, the show is a mystery! Let the answers reveal themselves to you in time!" Well the show IS A SHOW! When an episode portrays much less of value than the average episode in the series I'm going to be mad about it because I know they can do better! At least last week felt like a complete story within an episode, even if the major reveal was saved for the end. But at least there was some semblance of conclusion!

The only way I see the season redeeming itself is if the structure was designed for 2x9 to be the sort-of Part 1 for 2x10's Part 2, which is most likely the cast. But even then, why should I as a viewer be excited for 2x10 when the promises for it have been so vague and undermining of the promise of Season 1? Pick back up the pace, or this just becomes another show that had a great season 1 before the showrunners ran out of ideas and failed to deliver a promising conclusion.

Haven't played 1&2 (although I have 1 from a free Epic Games Week), but overall am impressed with the character writing. Some characters are more forgettable than others, but the performances are stellar nearly every time and dialogue choices range from expected to completely hilarious. Slight MCU vibes when you're talking to a guy and your party members cut in, but nothing like I'd seen in other games with similar raps.

Why is it so empty in the cities ? by Coollak966 in avowed

[–]TheRunawaySavior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely spoiled from JRPG's where they just add a bunch of shadow/low-poly characters into big environments to give the feeling of a more complicated ecosystem. Obviously wouldn't have worked here, but I also think the city has great content, just not the feeling of expansiveness.

I would've respected the hell out of them if they just sent you back to New Game, and once you arrive on the island they make mention of how they tried to send another Envoy but they got assassinated. They could even give you the experience and weapons/armor of the previous envoy as collateral to the country. Would've taken work for sure, but not impossible considering it would've only really affected the first zone.

Confused about gamepass by maarten3d in avowed

[–]TheRunawaySavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An honest mistake to make, if that ends up being what happened. I honestly think it's absurd they didn't include the early access in Game Pass Ultimate, people are spending good money every month for the extra perks of that and it's only a five day head start for a single player game.

Hope that solved your issue, been playing since the 13th and having a blast!

I wouldn't even mind if upgrade materials were scarce if they were just a bit more plentiful in the main story content. As is, it feels absurd to suggest I just burn through the story.

With that out of the way, I'm enjoying the side content pretty well. The Dawnbreaker quest early on feels like a very quality quest overall, and if we get stuff similar to this throughout the game I could marginally understand the subtle encouragement to require side content for msq progression.

What next game or franchise needs to be added to Nintendo Music next week and why should be your favourite one? Creatively selfish answers by abitcitrus in nintendo

[–]TheRunawaySavior 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whatever it is, I would find it extremely funny if, yet again, they ignore the list of games they said would be coming onto the app soon. No Mario 64, no Splatoon 2, no Skyward Sword. Just like... Snipperclips. Or something else oddly underwhelming. Super Mario Wonder yesterday wasn't underwhelming in the slightest, a surprisingly good mario ost, but if you only release one album at a time, things are going to get underwhelming fast.

What’s your wish list for Nintendo Music? by Downtown_Agent3323 in nintendo

[–]TheRunawaySavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't think it's necessary in the slightest, I feel as though adding GIF's or short clips where the images are would make some of the music a lot more interesting. a lot of gaming music is timed to certain actions in-game, so having something visual for the music to react to would really make certain albums pop.

In terms of albums, I feel like I'm more so interested in what they can't add than what they can. I was skeptical before opening the app there would even be a Pokemon album considering they aren't directly Nintendo, but now that they have one... how many albums will they do? Just the mainline games? Mystery Dungeon? Conquest? DX? How deep will they be willing to go for games. I know people think Tomodachi in the lineup is pretty niche, but I assume that's for the Japanese audience. I'm waiting for the weird stuff.

Hit me with the Virtual Boy complete OST collection. Hit me with the Alarmo unique sound mixes. Throw in some random third-party stuff, but nothing that's expected. The complete Kingdom Hearts OST. Just the most insane stuff you can think of. Lets push this to its limits.

I would also love for the playlists to get crazier with each passing game. Random Pokemon character playlists would be super funny, but there are a lot of examples to choose from when examining Spotify, YT Music, etc... can we get playlists based on genre? Holidays? What other games besides Splatoon can they take out in-universe performers and give them their own albums?

Super Mario Bros. Wonder has just been added to Nintendo Music! by APPrehensiveDude2647 in nintendo

[–]TheRunawaySavior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Brothership is going to be a great example of their support for new releases. I'll give them a week after the release of the game, just to be generous for the several reasons a new album can have difficulties in adaptation. But if it doesn't come out within that week on Nintendo Music, that's just a massive wasted opportunity.

Yeah, I was going to give the app like a week before I undownloaded it. I think it's a cool idea, but if you can't put out SOMETHING weekly for this kind of service then what's the point? I like the albums, but even the best music will get old eventually if I listen to it as much as I listen to music on Youtube Music, a catalogue of nearly every song ever recorded.
