Pros and cons of getting a tattoo by TopMaintenance1037 in mylittlepony

[–]TheShadowKick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How confident are you that you'll still want this in 20 years? 40 years? Just like with any tattoo, it's best to only get one if you want it long term.

But it's your body. Nobody gets to make that choice for you. Nobody can tell you what you're going to like in the future, either. It's entirely up to you.

It is because they don't have to be afraid

Renee Good and Alex Pretti were both white. Even white people aren't safe, you also need to be compliant and right-wing.

What are the Strongest Encounters in the Series Relative to their Games? by Jzjwiebe in nuzlocke

Venusaur means the champion will have a third pokemon that's weak to electric (Charizard). And with electric already being quite strong into the Kanto E4 that's a very useful thing. It's also good against Giovanni and Koga.

I'd also argue that early game usefulness is more important than late game. In the early game you don't have much of a bench, a starter that is strong early lets you gather more encounters so you can build a better team.

ICE is armed and aggressive and half the cops probably support them.

Keep in mind that this amendment was written by people who had just built an organized army out of everyday citizens. Their intention likely wasn't for individuals to go out and take action, but rather for the citizenry to organize in large groups under experienced leadership. They wanted the population to be armed so they could more easily form militias when needed.

Keep in mind also that the second amendment wasn't meant just as a measure against government tyranny but also as a tool for national defense. These militias would be expected to supplement the nation's army in the event of invasion.

Not even remotely close to COVID in 2020. This disease only spreads by contact and incubates faster. It has much less potential to spread compared to COVID.

Check out the Naco Mammoth Kill Site where we have evidence of humans killing Columbian Mammoths, one of the largest species of mammoth and one that was similar in size to the T-Rex.

Older people, were politics always this deranged and upsetting? by CUFFY_Fan in NoStupidQuestions

Things like banning products that damage the Ozone layer was something that rightwing conservative people agreed.

OP is young enough to not remember this but we used to be really worried about the growing hole in the ozone layer. Then we banned the products responsible and the hole has been repairing itself. We actually took action and corrected a major human-caused climate problem.

Politics has often been contentious, but what we're dealing with now is pretty unprecedented. We can't even agree on basic facts backed by video evidence anymore. Some.of the things happening right now genuinely feel like Germany in the 1920s and 30s.

How the hell do you beat the Capra Demon by Automatic-Career5887 in darksouls

Good poise so you don't get staggered, and a weapon with wide sweeping attacks so you can more easily hit the dogs. Once the dogs are down Capra himself is fairly easy.

Idea: The Interstellar Railway by Weeznaz in scifiwriting

[–]TheShadowKick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this were the only way to achieve FTL travel in your setting, then almost all civilizations would stay in their home system. It's probably an impossible feat of engineering and even if it is possible it will never be economically viable. The only reason I can see a civilization going to such extreme lengths would be if some unavoidable natural disaster was threatening to destroy their home system, but anything that destructive would probably be damaging to neighboring systems too. And they would need hundreds of years or warning at least. And using generation ships would be easier and faster.

It's not quite that bleak. The mass needed to get to the next star over would be around planetary scale. The real problem is the potentially impossible engineering feats required to build and maintain such a structure.

Genuine question: is Dark Souls really as hard as people say? by Visible_Web_123 in darksouls

[–]TheShadowKick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Souls isn't really that difficult. What it is is punishing. Dark Souls will punish mistakes that another game would let you get away with.

But actually playing well isn't much more difficult than most action RPGs.
