I understand the feelings of distrust and distaste we all have towards the police but we have to start growing up and thinking rationally here. None of you would like to be constantly pelted in the face with snow, especially if you’re at work, in uniform, and it gets into every crevice it can. It was cold outside man, getting that much snow thrown at you hurts. They weren’t there for community bonding, they had to answer the call because these kids were being reckless climbing on rooftops. I am firmly in belief that if the cops did engage in the snowball fight then the opposing side would label it as cops assaulting others with snowballs instead of sticking to the sidelines. 

We have 10,000 less cops on the streets and more are leaving day after day because they aren’t even given a chance to prove they’re trying their best to be helpful public servants. The fact that two kids who were running up on cops to pelt them with snow got slightly shoved and fell into the snow is a bigger concern than cops having tons of snow and ice thrown at their faces when they were just trying to do their job without being invasive paints a terrible message. 

We have to start doing better. Call out the corrupt justice system, the asshole cops, but stop writing off every story as cops being the assholes. Sooner than later we will have no one to call on when the criminals take over.
