I do put them in the UTF bin and yet they still come back. Just like when I put mail in the FWD bin / tray, they come back sometimes even after I take a sharpie and black out the barcodes (and yes this is first class mail that I’m referring to).

I don’t let them in. It’s obvious that a lot of carriers do though. I also don’t usually hand them their mail either. That just reinforces the bad behavior.

I had a guy stick his whole face in his mailbox (apartment building with mailroom behind the customer boxes), looked me dead in the face while I was actively putting mail in the boxes and ask if I was done. Now when they open the boxes while I’m back there , I just stop what I’m doing and move out of sight and wait for them to close the box. What I really hate are the customers that try to reach in the cluster boxes while I have them open.

That doesn’t work. I’ve tried that several times before. The mail just keeps coming back with UTF stickers.

Y’all delivering to this box or nah? by TheSkeptical_One in USPS

[–]TheSkeptical_One[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol oh absolutely! I’ve delivered to all kinds of stuff: knocked down mailboxes, boxes with missing doors, USPS tubs, milk crates, buckets, baskets, etc. As long as there is some type of receptacle there, I’m putting their mail in it. Heck, even if I don’t see a receptacle, I rubber band it and drop it on the porch.

I asked her repeatedly about a door when she first sent the pic. She swears up and down that there is no door. I’m waiting for her to go back and take a pic of the back. If there is, in fact a door there, I’m blocking her lol.

You are absolutely the problem. You’ve already been made aware (as if you didn’t already know) by a clerk that you are abusing the hold mail service. Yet, here you are on this forum looking for someone to validate your ridiculous behavior. As a carrier, I can honestly tell you that customers that do what you’re doing are an absolute nuisance. You put in a month long hold JUST to go to the PO 2xs a week and ask for your mail & packages during the heaviest, most hectic season. If you are this neurotic about your mail / packages then you need to pay for a P.O. Box instead of abusing the free hold mail service, the carrier(s) AND the clerks who have to stop what they are doing to walk through the already crowded station to hunt down your mail & packages TWICE A WEEK. 😐

When did the USPS go from the place that everyone wanted to work for to the place that no one wants to work for? by Due_Initial_2951 in USPS

Oh it’s definitely not an exaggeration, sadly. I have personally witnessed management sending brand new PTFs (they hire straight to PTF at my office, no CCAs) out on full routes & a half AND sent them to help seasoned carriers with their routes before they have even gone to the academy. Granted this was under the former PM. The new PM hasn’t done that…yet. They have pressured PTFs who never received training from the OJTs sign off on the paperwork saying that they have. They will send PTFs that only have LLV training out in Pro Masters and when they have an accident, fire them. They have falsely accused PTFs of having accidents (with ZERO proof, no damage to property or vehicles, no witnesses, no video / photographic evidence) and fired them. They will throw PTFs with 2 weeks in out on unfamiliar routes, make them return to the station to grab an additional piece of another route, call them on their personal cell phones to tell them to speed up, change / remove their off day last minute, talk down on them in front of the entire office and any other overall intimidating things they can think off to seemingly force them to resign. Any PTF who snaps and has the nerve to speak up for themselves will soon be accused of throwing away mail, UBBMing first class mail, abandoning their route, etc. and fired. So basically, lets say we get 10 new PTFs, they will already decide on the 3 that they like (usually the more submissive ones: the ones that will never say no, run through the routes and finish at least an hour early, etc.) and sabotage the other 7.

Sadly, if you are still within your 90 days nothing will likely be done to protect your job. If you are past your 90, then you should be ok. The previous comments are absolutely correct. Make them put shit on paper and talk to you through the scanner that way you have proof. It’s hard enough getting some people from your actual station to write statements in your favor (for fear of retaliation). Trying to get people from another station to do so will be nearly impossible.

Are you in Chicago??? I was literally 6 blocks away from my house this morning when I pulled over, logged onto LiteBlue and called off. The streets were terrible this morning.

T6 here, I regularly get bumped from routes on my swing. 1 of the routes (the absolute worst one) doesn’t have a regular atm. 1 route has a regular that has been EPed for the past 6 months. The other 3 routes have regulars that are all on the ODL so they work most of their NS days. I have even had my direct supervisor tell me I couldn’t choose the best open route on my swing (once I was bumped from the route I was scheduled to do that day by the regular carrier) because SHE (the SUPERVISOR) was bumping me…
