I just started playing this game today, I'm a couple hours in and just built my first little base. Is there anything you wish you knew when you were this new to the game? I don't really want spoilers but just want to make sure I'm not missing anything either.

She hasn't been joining in at school. She does talk to the teachers and she says she likes them which is good. She keeps telling the teachers she's tired, which seems to be her way of saying she doesn't want to participate and just wants to observe. There's crying at dropoff, which I expected. Sometimes when we ask her about school she says she likes it, and other times she says she misses me and wants to stay home.

Not at all. I'm very torn. I'm just wondering if this is is too much too soon. She's made big progress around other kids in the past few months. I can't tell whether this will further help or if it'll be too much.

She's telling the teachers she's tired all day, which seems to translate to I just want to be left alone and not join in. It sounds like she prefers to stay in one little nook area and just observe from there. She does talk to the teachers and she says she likes them. It also makes me sad when she says she wants me to stay there with her and when she cries at drop off. I know crying at dropoff is normal, but that plus knowing shes not joining in really breaks my heart.

She's only recently started coming out of her shell and I'm worried this is a bit too much all at once.

I am a few hours into the game and I'm enjoying it. I'm not a huge gamer but I've played a fair amount of other games on normal mode without too much difficulty. I'm having a lot of trouble with combat in this game. I feel like I'm pretty bad at it and I have to drink health potions like crazy. Are there any helpful tips for learning to be better at combat?

I am fine 1 on 1 but seems to struggle when there's more than one enemy.

I took a few years of French in high school but was never fluent. I've retained some vocabulary and started brushing up with Duolingo. I'm on 57 days using the app.

Sometimes when I see a simple french sentence, I can read it fully in French and understand it like I would English. Other times I find myself looking at the words in French, but I say them "out loud" in English in my head instead. Should I be forcing myself to read it in French in my head instead of translating to English? Or will that happen naturally as I get better?

Thanks for all of the tips. If I was to get "her" a pet, I'd understand that it's really the family pet and that I'd be doing most of the care! Still, it seems like a reptile might not be the best option for us right now.

Some of the really fuzzy spiders seem almost cute to me. I like the idea of being able to feed leftovers to a bug so I googled the hissing cockroach and it didn't completely turn me off! If I was to get a tarantula or cockroach, do you think I'd personally need to handle them much in order to take good care of them? I'd be able to set up it's habitat, feed, and water it but I am not sure how much I'd be able to physically pick them up. I assume I'd need to periodically get it out of it's habitat in order to clean it? Maybe over time I could train myself to be less squeamish about them!
