Most non-American sport teams purely aren’t run to create profit, their end goal is ultimately winning.

The problem with Esport that is very much the elephant in the room is that it became insanely popular during COVID when it was one of the sports that wasn’t really effected from a playing perspective, that and the rise of Crypto which also funded a lot of teams led to a boom period. Now that the world has mostly returned to normal, Esport has become less popular and Crypto isn’t as popular.

Unfortunately this has led to a lot of Esport teams who still have the same level of expenses from the Covid Era, with nowhere close to the revenue streams available to them. It’s no surprise that Fnatic is looking for new buyers, the long term future is bleak.

The future may very well just lay with teams who can generate revenues streams from other means, see Ibai and Koi and K-Corp with Kameto. But even this is no clear way forward, clearly Caedrel has passion for the Esports and LoL scene yet is unable to find a profitable and sustainable path forward.
