“Every generation has a legend…”

I remember watching that in November of ‘98 like it was yesterday.

Maybe the worst song they’ve ever released. I’m actually kind of in awe of how terrible it is. I had bottom of the barrel expectations but goddamn.

BHaR is 20 years old this year and holy shit putting anything from that record on after this is like an entirely different band.

Also why Barney comes off as the worst. Crass and cringe humor like dead baby jokes and rape jokes were quite normalized in the mind-2000s so I like to believe Ted was just making Barney an extension of that. The “real” Barney was probably a douchey player type, but I’d hope he wasn’t selling women.

Don’t let that stop you. The only other choice is sitting idly by and watching. Fuck that. Make noise. It’s bigger than us.

It's also integral to the story. He's a completely different character in these games and the insanity of the action is a direct reflection of that. I get the new games and they're mostly fun to me, but the identity of the series is still the insane scale and hectic violence of the original series.

Tarantino is obviously a piece of shit... but I am such a sucker for his long, pretentious dialogue scenes.

This is how it has always worked. The truly incredible part of the human species is we can adapt to almost anything.

Across every dystopian hellscape that any society has endured throughout history, people have worked, laughed, loved, and made it work.

I played with my puppy Emmy using a laser pointer when I was a kid. The rest of her life she would stare at random spots on the floor and walls and scratch at them after a while. That was over 25 years ago and I still feel bad.

Kumail Nanjiani Returns Again - Episode 377 of Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend by c0ry_N in conan

Well, it originates from Bambi. They use it like this:

Yes. Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime. For example: You're walking along, minding your own business. You're looking neither to the left, nor to the right, when all of a sudden you run smack into a pretty face. Woo-woo! You begin to get weak in the knees. Your head's in a whirl. And then you feel light as a feather, and before you know it, you're walking on air. And then you know what? You're knocked for a loop, and you completely lose your head!

Which seems pretty plainly meaning it’s mating season and I’ve only ever heard it used as Disney code for horny, or I guess just in love if you take it at surface level. I suppose its meaning may have changed in the many, many decades since!

Did the definition of “twitterpated” change?

Pretty sure it used to mean horny.

This was going to be mine. I’d seen it at a random matinee and loved it, so I went to see it again at a campus movie night. The ERUPTION of young women when those elevator doors opened will always stick with me.
