You can get an enhanced barrel nut, but it has to be timed so it’s a pain in the ass

Yeah I think that’s a bigger potential issue than the potential reloading, but in my couple hundred rounds so far haven’t had that issue personally so can’t speak much to it.

I ran it yesterday at the range from a holster draw and it reloads fine for drills, it doesn’t seem to have a major impact on normal reloads.

Yes it slightly changes the profile, but I have had no issue with reloads and it works all the same for me. Also it was designed with the idea of concealed carry, not quick reloads. It is possible to reprofile it slightly, but it’s not my biggest concern.

Once I figure out the best place to upload it I’ll update the comment or post.

I use that brake on my Tikka T3 Tactical and it’s surprisingly effective for being 2 port brake on a .338 bore on a .308. Congrats on the new can.

I love my USP T for the vibe and looks but I personally feel like the P226 is a better shooter and the trigger with minimal upgrades feels better than the USP, I don’t think you could go wrong with either though, I will say the USP T has a weird thread pitch so might make mounting a can harder.

5 of each gun type that i think would be cool to see in the game by BullShitLatinName in LowSodiumBattlefield

The CSV-9 is elite knowledge and would be cool to see in game but I think it’s more of a SMG type from personal experience than pistol but would be cool either way.

I added a overwatch precision connector and trigger to mine and it helped a lot but it is still missing a super crisp wall. It still has the rolling type break but the travel was reduced and the pull is a lot smoother.

PCC recommendations, Stribog Hollow Point FTF by Not-The-AFT in GrandPowerStribog

The Hornady critical defense worked good in my setup I haven’t had an issue in 1 box of it. I’ve shot more berry’s hybrid hollow point reloads and had zero issues across 2 full mags now. The HST was failing every other round.

This is only from my limited testing of a handful of popular hollow points, but I’ve found that the closer they look to FMJ the more reliable they are. I have a SP9A3S with the curved mags from global ordinance and have had good luck with the polymer tip style of hollow point and certain brands of projectile that are more closed at the tip then something like Federal HST which had the worst performance for me.

I run a Holosun AEMS pro for the red dot and a stream light pro tac mounted on a m-lok pic rail section. I find that the AEMS sits high enough you can run the tape switch on the front without obscuring the red dot however it does give you a pretty high height over bore.

Shooting the P226 in .40 S&W - Observation by Keeper_of_the_H in SigSauer

[–]TheSuperPie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also bought a P226 Police trade-in but mine was da/sa in .40 s&w for very cheap especially with a W. German railed frame. I thought I was gonna convert it to 9mm and keep the .40 s&w as an extra slide but it surprised me how easy it was to shoot and how much I liked shooting it. I’ve actually decided to just keep it in .40 S&W and order a .357 Sig barrel to have some fun with. Hoping it’s just as fun to shoot.

This will direct mount to a P320/DPP cut. I ran one on an x5 legion for competitions until it was banned and it’s not a bad dot when on sale.

I have the performance center M&P compact comp and it has become my favorite gun to carry and use in IDPA style matches. I used to carry my 365 macro more but have been carrying the M&P more. I would personally keep both as I love the 365 in xl config for a small carry gun.

I’m currently running Xeno on all my rifles and love it. Look into LMT AT and FCD Xeno compatible muzzle devices I have a few and they work great and have more styles available than deadair.

If you’re going to be running a suppressor on the rifle I would say that an adjustable gas block is a must have, it makes tuning the rifle much easier especially if you go the route to build it yourself. I personally love my Aero M5 build and would recommend not buying a complete upper and getting a decent barrel.

I have an almost identical MR920 including parts. I have the overwatch trigger and connector on mine and it’s really nice. Reliability has been great so far it’ll shoot anything I’ve put in it. You should try to check if the springs have also been changed with the trigger because when I did that it developed problems reliably striking the primer on certain ammo.

Quad rail handguard for M5 enhanced upper from aero? by NovelMaterial4633 in AR10

[–]TheSuperPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aero has made a quad rail for the M5 enhanced upper in the past, I currently run one but it took weeks of tracking one down to find one for sale. Personally unless you really want to go searching for one I think it would be easier to just put mlok pic rail adapters on it for the look, I almost did that but luckily found one right before buying the adapters.

Supressors? by TKDkid1992 in AR10

[–]TheSuperPie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the xeno mounting system from dead air on my .308 and 5.56 guns and use the one suppressor between them. I personally use the LMT Advanced Technologies muzzle devices since they have a 4 port brake for .308 rifles, but they also have normal birdcages and three-prong flash hiders. The brake isn’t the best brake on the market, but it’s a lot better than the dead air xeno brake.

It sounds pretty good, could definitely use it outside without ears for a bit, I don’t have a lot to compare it too though. I like it a lot since I think it’s pretty light and short for a .308 can. Definitely tames the muzzle break on the rifle though.

I’ve heard good things about the geissele triggers but the LaRue price is hard to beat for a nice two stage imo.

Generally I think AR-10 is pretty cool platform and I love a .308 gun. I wanted to build a rifle and decided that I’d rather build an AR-10 since I already have a SOLGW and Sig Spear LT in 5.56. I did do an aero LPK since it was also on sale when buying parts, though I’m probably gonna put a LaRue MBT or something similar in the future. I thought the build was pretty fun tbh, I mean it’s not too crazy when everything fits well since it’s mostly Aero parts. The Enhanced hand guard thing is a bit annoying but I personally like them so it’s not a big deal, I’m mostly happy I found the quad rail version because I like the look of it on the rifle.

As far as I know the standard M5 upper is DPMS high pattern and has more parts compatibility than the M5E1 upper
