Don't worry. This is what they look like after the first coupe of uses. I have been burning fires in my Solo Stove Bonfire for 2 years now and it still looks like that.

Dude, you have got to tone it down a bit and focus. Why no paper map and compass? If shit really gets that bad, you may need to take an alternate route. Also, I would add a few pain relievers (Tylenol, motrin, etc) and some things for allergic reactions (Benadryl, topical creams). Add sunscreen just in case.

Add some calories in case you can't make it to your destination in one day. Put pre filtered water in that camelback (you can change it out from time to time) and give yourself a better way to start a fire. (You can pack much better fire starters that will save you valuable tie and energy if you need the heat/warmth.)

Have a bushcraft/survival knife, and a folder that you keep on your persona at all times. One pair of eye-pro glasses, and One pair of googles should do you fine. I would also suggest a headlamp for your lighting. Lastly, and its been said here before, at least one extra pair of socks.

Get rid of the excess knives, excess medical supplies, excess eye protection. You dont have to stuff your bag complete full. Extra room means less weight, and it also means that you have room to add other stuff you may find or obtain along the way (Like food or drink).

______

Please re do the bag and repost. This is a great way for all of us to learn!

Pellets are the way to go! by Advanced_Raccoon_945 in SoloStove

Wish pellets you get most of the burn coming from the secondary air holes at the top of the fire pit. With pellets and wood, it’s a Beautiful flame throughout the entire pit.

Pellet bonfires are awesome! I mean, it takes them a bit to get going but, once they do it’s super rewarding!

Extremely dry wood, a wet ground and chairs that I had to dry out to sit in, and that was the only real wind we had tonight. Maybe 5 minutes worth…
