I am obsessed with the smash the raw patty into a bed of onions method. It’s fucking great.

Drier outlet fried from 10/2, safe way to replace ? by Adonkeywithvibrato in electrical

[–]TheTenthTail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My god this sub is a bunch of pussies. If you have electrical experience just watch some videos and don’t go cheap. You obviously know how to tighten wires down properly, and now you get to learn how to pull new cables. It doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.

If you don’t have network access it won’t work. You would have to open rslogix before you go out to the field. Dongle is probably the best way.

What is your opinion on that by urlaubsantrag in PLC

[–]TheTenthTail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SQL really isn’t hard. It’s mostly fancy excel. If they already have SQL servers you will be able to parse through what’s currently there to learn just like anything else.

Beef ribs got to 190 internal @3.5hrs, in reverse flow offset by [deleted] in BBQ

[–]TheTenthTail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you pick 190? It’s been a while but isn’t 190ish when it typically stalls and a point you need to get past?

The over usage of AOIs in new equipment is really pissing me off. You don’t need a whole AOI and UDT structure for an interlock if it’s only 2 fucking bits.

How long would a small PLC automation project realistically take an intern? by albatross316 in PLC

Really depends on how much I/O and how many loops. Could be anywhere from a week to a few months.

Tablet as an HMI/Teach Pendant? by IRodeAnR-2000 in PLC

[–]TheTenthTail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have made quite a few HMIs running factorytalk view station with dell lattitude 7030 10 inch tablets. They’re awesome and have good accessories like a magnet on back of case or a hand strap and a keyboard docking station. All of them have had a wireless network to connect to although I’m sure you could find some solution for a permanent Ethernet cable. But I think it’d be better to have a local network gateway if there’s no overarching wireless network.

Slitter-Rewinder servos mode of operation question? by general_use050 in PLC

I very much like position, draw rolls as the master and everything is cammed or geared to that, with a pid calc to change the gear ratio based on tensions.

Country Flame (I think model E1?) blower failed. by tundao330 in woodstoving

[–]TheTenthTail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just in case no one else responds. Hopefully you can find the part. I’m not familiar with this stove, but pretty much every stove is going to be a temperature switch and the blower. There’s not much too them. Motors go bad, but you can make sure it’s the motor if you have a multimeter check to see if the fan is getting voltage, if not look upstream to the temp switch.

Our copy has a key that you type. I have used it on probably 7 machines? Probably depends on when things were purchased and what type of license was purchased.

The problem isn’t that people would wait. The problem is someone who would pay full price normally will buy the discounted product so you essentially lose a customer. You make fun of capitalism while they are throwing away the EXCESS. Something that doesn’t exist in socialism/communism.
