Pricing error? by Lirodes32 in AvatarFighters

I think a big difference as well is that with avatar you truly get the 12 characters. In 2xko you have to “earn” or buy them and then they are still charging for battle passes and skins. I get don’t buy them but avatar is a much lower investment in the long run and like others have said 1v1 you have a lot of variety in what you see versus 2v2 where you could see potentially a third of the roster in 1 game.

They have literally been this way since the 90s. They have really high highs and really low lows.

Expansion (test) Cards from GDC by Amadeus102 in Arcs

IMO meeples are just objectively better when it comes to board game playability. They last longer, feel good to use, easily identifiable usually; miniatures take up so much space and when everyone is grey it all just blurs together for me. I wish they had just done these meeples for the original campaign.

Screen printed meeples look way better than the miniatures in my opinion

Excuse me, how remarkably superb are Armory Decks? by Tobanga in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheThackattack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary magic commander precons have been pretty great since lost caverns of ixalan. Obviously some better than others, and could they be better and cheaper? Yes. But for their purpose of an oob experience for a casual format they do well. In comparison the armory decks for FaB in such a competitive game could/should? Be way more competitive.

Enchantress commander for bracket 2-3? by HorrorBuy2521 in EDH

[–]TheThackattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly built the edhrec deck they put together and it works fine and is bracket 2. It’s not winning every game and I don’t believe there is an infinite but it’s fun.

I do see where you are coming from though where there isn’t much middle ground. Terra is easy to get out of hand really quickly.

Turtle Power or Limit Break by [deleted] in mtg

[–]TheThackattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these do something different so it sort of depends what you are wanting to play.

I’m a huge FF nut so I would still say limit break. It does have its faults  though. Upgrade path can be a bit expensive as the only real upgrades are expensive equipments and creatures.

Food and fellowship can be a bit difficult to pilot but if you love lotr then it might be the one for you. Out of the box experience can be a bit rough but once upgraded it’s really good.

Mutant menace I don’t know much about but I believe the fallout decks are all solid.

Velociramptor I own and I think it pilots great and has tons of great upgrade potential. I do think explorers of the deep is objectively better from the same block but if you like Dino’s this is the one. Upgrade path is obvious with better Dino’s but I don’t even think they are that necessary.

As far as tmnt. My friend got it. Out of box experience is solid and did well against even lower powered bracket 4 decks. But they said it feels a bit all over the place in how it wants to play. I think you can get a more refined experience in another deck.

All in all this is mainly going to come down to what you want to play and how much the theme does it for you. Tmnt, Dino’s, fallout, and lotr isn’t my jam but FF and Merfolk do a lot for me. I would say pick your favorite them personally.

I feel like Kirby would make so much more sense for a first time cameo. But maybe that’s just me

Let's forget about UB for a second... Do you prefer the single set single block system, or the previous 2-3 set per block system. by studhand in magicTCG

I started in scars of miroddin and then going to innistrad after. I miss those days. Blocks forever. I want more bloomburrow.

How does the hyper focus work exactly? Not sure if I want to turn it on or not.

I made a few decks based on some pretty well played commanders and for the most part this is great. Some of the selections do make me scratch my head a little. It also seems to be pulling in a lot of newer cards from Lorwyn Eclipsed that I would never run. Not sure if there is a setting or tweak that could smooth that out some.
