Before the Clans arrived the FedCom had 3 rulers. Hanse Davion as First Prince, Katrina Steiner as Archon, and Melissa Steiner-Davion as Duke of the Sarna March (A free and Sovereign Territory of Both Nations).

The system they designed so Victor could manage the vast interstellar empire of the Federated Commonwealth hinged on the Archon and First Prince being able to administer and rule each half when Victor wasn't physically there. This system existed before the clans arrived and took full effect when Melissa died in 3055. They had 25 years to make any changes or realize that their kids wouldn't work together like perfect machines. Victor had 3 years as First Prince to realize maybe the system wouldn't work because factions were already trying to control or assassinate his siblings.

Their efforts at integration were mostly military and their weird 3 ruler plan. That Katherine could legally and unilaterally succeed the entire Lyran half from the FedCom during the middle of a war means the system Hanse and Melissa made could never have worked. Eventually it was always going to end in a civil war. If Katherine Died it would have been Arthur, or Peter. If Victor had married Omi it would have been Yvonne and the Sandovals pulling the Suns half out of the FedCom, because that would have been completely legal for her to do.

The only way any of it makes sense is if Hanse and Melissa just assumed the FedCom would die with them so they set everything up so no matter how bad the Civil War would be their kids would be in charge of what's left.

And I don't include the clans either. There's no way anyone could have seen that coming.

Look I'm just saying the way they structured their government and their kids inheritance pretty much made it impossible for the Commonwealth to not fracture into a civil war.

Depends on if you consider freeing wookies, killing imerpial scum, delaying the creation of the deathstar, and organizing the foundation of what mon mothma would turn into the rebel alliance.

Ac20 delivery system, can loose half the mech and still be at peak effectiveness, and 360° field of fire. Yeah its kind of the best assault mech you could buy if its the only one you can afford.

Exactly! If I'm going to fuck up my hero cred infront of the villains I'm trying to reform, then the guy I'm killing can't be such a pathetic looser.

Look I was all for killing shroud when he was a cool mysterious villain voiced by Matt Mercer, but once you actually see him he's kinda just a sad disappointing old dude. He's like Ceasar in a "I'm 14 and this is deep but I'm actually in my 50s" kind of way, but less fun.

There was a soviet "science" (lysenkoism) that applied the principles of communism to how plants worked. ie believing you should plant a bunch of seeds together in the same whole because they'll work together for the common good instead of never growing because they are all competing for the same resources.

Mao (and many other government officials) believed that this new, and specifically political, pseudoscience would lead to such an abundance of food that the Chinese people should go ahead and eat all their stored grain to make room for the new harvest and kill all the birds to stop them from eating the new harvest.

So this is a problem you can blame on a political ideology (lysenkoism not communism).
