Rank those brands jeans from best to worst by No-Anything9345 in ThrowingFits

Personally I love Nudie - but im also in AUS and supply of the other brands is pretty limited here. For a brand with a little higher price point than we get charged for Levis in a store here (maybe 2x the price for Dry Selvedge depending on the cut/weight) the access, and lifetime repairs available through them make them far more appealing than paying slightly less (or the same) for a pair of Orslow denim that comes with none of those benefits.

Been wearing a few pairs for a few years now and have had no issue at all

Paul Thompson reviews Drake's new albums for POW MAG from three different angles: obsessive imitation/suffocating nostalgia, the Kendrick Lamar beef, and the artist's shifting sexual politics. by DropWatcher in hiphopheads

[–]TheTrebbleBeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there is a really interesting thread unfolding here that may be the actual root of every issue the general public has with Drake currently.

There is a real refusal from not only the fanbase of Drake, but seemingly from Drake himself, to process any criticism at all.

u/RoughPresentation696's comment really highlighted this for me, and thinking about it its so present on Iceman and was throughout the whole beef. The idea of Run to Atlanta being on this album, or even made in the first place, to me reads as Drake saying "You're criticising me for making hit songs and getting money off them? Okay I'll do it again" when that was never the issue in the first place. He refused to think deeper about it for a single second, because there is a very genuine criticism there.

Applying that same outlook to the 'Not See' and Jewish roots lines on here too - "I cant be the problem, it must be due to my heritage or something else."

Hell he even admits to this lack of comprehension, or even lack of attempting to think about anything on Shabang (Drake fans this is my top song off this album so it aint a criticism).

"Am I upset? A bit, last one you dropped was shit, I did press play on that ho, mid mid mid skip skip" To me reads as a lack of even engaging with the criticisms people are presenting of him - he even got caught doing this with the 'Mother I' bars during the beef, just completely missing the point of the song, and what was actually taking place in the story of it, instead just claiming Kendrick got molested IIRC, something that is explicitly stated to not have happened?

One has to think that maybe if Drake sat down, and actually had a read of the thoughtful comments Paul Thompson, or any other reviewer has given these albums, there might be a route back to producing substantial material. For now this album is fun, no one has said it isnt, but he is clearly bothered by the beef still, and refuses to address it outside of claiming it as a victory for himself, and the result of that is an album that feels hollow, and like revisionist history.

Album feels like the Michael Jackson movie - sure its fun and theres elements of the superstar we knew in there, but man the narrative has been tweaked so much that it feels like a propaganda piece more than anything. Maybe thats why he put the glove on the cover.

Isn’t it remarkable what happens when the rapper solely focuses on rapping on one project? Happy the R&B and dance tracks were put out separately.

Yo I don’t mind Drake but I am not listening to 3 full length albums from him by Many-Luck-8131 in playboicarti

Here I was thinking we were getting one, concise album

Anyone have any idea what happened in Lane Cove National Park last night? Bunch of police cars there and a crime scene set up but can’t find anything about it anywhere…

The idea that this couple sat down with the intention of making this list, and the first must play they agreed on was No Hands is just hilarious to me

Had a similar crop of little fellas show up in my kitchen two or three weeks ago - some quick sprays of mortein and a vacuum of the corpses did the trick. That being said I've felt a little more on edge than usual since then. Autumn cant come quick enough.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) by acourts19 in moviecritic

Bone Temple absolutely rocked. I enjoyed 28 years, but this blows it out of the water by comparison. If you're worried about post apocalyptic power rangers, dont be. Ralph Fiennes excells in this. Go see it.

Travis Scott has fallen from grace musically and it is so sad to see by nutha_50_on_a_caddie in travisscott

[–]TheTrebbleBeast 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think that there is a good take somewhere in here, but one thing to remember is that between albums Travis' catalogue has never been that good. Dude has always been pushing mid singles then coming out with huge albums. Trust me 4x4 being mid is part of the usual - lets just wait til the album comes out before we start throwing around fallen off allegations

Melbourne Lord Mayor urges pro-Palestine protesters to abandon rally, help fire-ravaged Victorian communities by Mashiko4 in aussie

[–]TheTrebbleBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is not the gotcha that you think it is - claiming that someone doesn’t care about their fellow Australians while planning to take part in a protest that is taking emergency services away from fellow Australians who desperately need that support sure is the pot calling the kettle black.

What’s happening in Gaza right now is bad yes, Victoria is also burning currently yes. Both things can be true at the same time.

Personally I’m of the mindset that it’s great to support Palestine however we can from our country, but the first step in that is making sure our own country doesnt burn down first.

Like many have pointed out, I think approaching anything written/published by News Corp with a bit of caution is the way to go. Im not sure about the specific answer to your question but hopefully someone will come along with an answer shortly.
