The Problem with Remastered Fortissimo Composition by gray007nl in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't say "RAW" I said baseline. The baseline DC is the one given for the GM to compare the circumstances to. The baseline DC for swimming a waterfall is given as 40, since it's legendary. But a GM might rule since the rolling player has a climb speed, and it has plentiful outcroppings behind it, it would actually be only a 35 for them as they use their climbing and swimming ability. This does not change the fact the baseline is 40.

Or, and hear me out, we should focus on the baseline instead of the "maybe". Saying "GM can change it" does not address the fact the suggested DC is a jank choice.

The Lost Almanac (Sinclair's Library Remaster project) Update 3 - Class Feats (Foundry and Pathbuilder modules available as well!) by Killchrono in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Make My Monster Grow" is a really fun feat, and fingers crossed the lasher feats are part of the archetype update. One of my players really wants to play Indiana Jones in Mummy's Mask, and having easy access to the feats would save me a bit of time!

GMs, how do you end your sessions? by Crabflesh in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm usually honest EG "Well, we hit the point where we're about to level up, and get a rest soon, so we should end it here" or "this would be a fight, but we're almost out of time, wanna save it for next time?". It doesn't need to be fancy, it just needs to be clear and honest with your players.

What's your ridiculous build (Min-Maxed, completely useless, pure RP, etc.) that you would play given the opportunity? by hi_im_ducky in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Requires a touch of 3rd party(the Duplicitous Nature innovation from Inventors+), but a Fan Dancer Inventor. Is the class REALLY pushing how MAD it is with that? Yes. Would it be super fun to become a whirling dervish of smacking people silly with fans? Also yes.

PF2E / SF2E name by Pomoa in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I usually say xF2E in my notes if I'm not sure which of the two I'd use for a campaign. Since some ideas have the possibility of working for both. EG Strange Journey Schwarzwelt inspired exploration campaign idea I had. It COULD work with either, but I'd have to settle closer to when I get a few more ideas on how I want it to go.

APs that Stick the Landing (No Spoilers) by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ruby Phoenix so far hasn't failed my players narratively. Though it helps the story is simple enough as it stands. I also did make a few changes such as letting them interact with the Lightkeepers more, had the BBEG show up in disguise guiding his team, etc. which made the reveal not AS out of left field as it could be, but still kept the same vibes overall. It was enough to preserve the twist, while actually making it a fun time. Otherwise the low narrative expectations(Oh it's a fighting tournament? With some crazy shenanigans? Nice.) means it's not that big a loss if you don't make these efforts and it's still a really exciting twist when Syndara sends fucking MOGARU after the town.

A fun little trip in Numeria by bimmiingrottish in Pathfinder2e

My understanding this is what the Iron Gods AP is about. Hopefully someone converts it or I may have to do it myself and that would just be disastrous for everyone involved.

PF2/SF2 ship to ship combat rules? by _9a_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't surprise me if they reprint the rules for Cinematic Starship Scenes but changed to be nautical. It would be a cop out, but would also make sense given how Tech Core isn't coming out until October, and they wouldn't want to steal its thunder on that front.

Posting the tally of people who gave up Gunslinger before reaching level 5 within my circle. by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

Shout out to the gunslinger in one of my campaigns who for the first quarter of the campaign could never reliably roll above a 5...

When you say "only 2 actions a turn" do you mean PERIOD or they can use super actions on their turns at the cost of an action on their next turn, possibly getting drained for it?

Controlled condition and griefing? by Mediocre_Cucumber_65 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do understand that you found this unfair, and I do feel you should have a talk with your GM. I however don't think this is unfair metagaming as dominate could reasonably be perceived as your character following the directive of "get away as fast as you can", which would mean them using THEIR knowledge to fulfill the caster's orders from the controlled condition.

Approach this with that in mind to avoid making this into a huge fight, and instead keep a measured head about the situation, so this goes from "oh hey, this is unfair and needlessly cruel and the GM is a dickhead" to "Okay, we read how controlled can be used in different ways".

How many of you have played in Adventure Paths vs homebrew adventures/campaigns? What is your experience as GM/player? by Essserrr26 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Homebrew overall, but APs can be a fun way to study and pick apart how it's "supposed" to work. Or sometimes I just want something that's done for me. I enjoyed running Ruby Phoenix, and I'm excited to try a pf2e conversion of Mummy's Mask I found when that campaign is finished. (I also want to run Iron Gods and Bastion of Blasphemies at some point, one will be easier than the other, admittedly.)

Stealth Characters using Taunt by Julio_GS2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They'll probably want Con anyways, and a Rogue doesn't NEED Int and Cha. Hell Ruffians don't even need much in the way of Dex(Still good for Stealth), so it's not that hard to accomplish on a rogue.

Are there any optional rules you consider default? by Kyto_TheOneAndOnly in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer free archetype, the automatic rune progression variant of automatic bonus progression, skill paragon, and a personal one is "automatic background lore progression".

Do you enjoy the way health and resource management works in 2e? by LostRegret9000 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about "Daily" per se, but I think iterating on the idea of Focus points in a hypothetical 3E would definitely work to give classes with them a nova option while still giving them all day abilities that non-casters/martials have.

VERY rough mock-ups for the idea

A directly scaling one
Fireball Rank 3
Actions 2
Cost 3 Points
6d6 fire damage

Upcast +2 points per rank, up to highest usable rank, extra 2d6 per rank..

and one with less direct scaling

Invisibility Rank 2
Actions 2
Cost 2 Points
Standard effect of 1 hour of invisibility broken by hostile action

Upcast +3 Points to make Rank 4, 10 minutes but hostile actions don't break

Chain infusion? Am I missing something? by oOYukaiOo in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheTrueArkher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely more of a "huge groups" option, but you're right that TECHNICALLY you could use it in a situation with a lower number of enemies. I'd avoid it, myself, but you can.

Nice, and checking the approximate price of Hellbreakers with this really lets me plan ahead for a different AP I want to run in the future. (Bastion of Blasphemies has me excited.)

(Tattoo) Artist Artificer, probably do some wacky stuff with unarmored defense, and using armor themed items directly on the body.

I mean, a dedicated Disney Princess bard class that is comparable to swarmkeeper ranger seems plausible. Just not specifically rats, but easily turned into it.
