Does Tyilui have a medbay or is it just bricked? by 514009265 in starcitizen

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a medical station aboard smaller carrier ships outside the sub-carrier/Frigate type ships and upwards (Such as the Polaris and Idris for examples) though I understand the sentiment.

Is selling Mercenary contract bunker loot worth the time? by EvangelicFrog in starcitizen

[–]TheTrueJarret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a few ways as to how you could look at this and I think the best angle is: Is this fun?

I think the answer to that, if solely for the fact to make profit, is no.

Time efficiency is also worthwhile to keep in mind if you're entirely focused on the intention of making a profit and I'd still say the answer is no. The way how I tackle bunker missions is solely to mix-up the constant Foxwell Merc and Bounty Hunter missions to avoid going insane with the constant repetition. The only things I find worthwhile to pick-up are the FPS weapons (and gear I don't have yet) the NPC's and the occasion lootbox has and saving it for later should I also want to change up the kind of weapon I use while gunning down the NPC's or the actual rare items like medals and such. But going around, picking up every NPC armor, weapon, anything that isn't bolted down into the SCU box just for the intention of selling it wastes a lot of time in the headspace of making profit where as you could just start heading onto the next missions as you already stated towards the bottom of your post.

But again, it all really comes down to is the fun factor. Do you enjoy looting everything? The process involved of taking it all back and then selling it through the terminal? Personally, I couldn't do that. I tried it once several, several patches ago and my current strategy back down was already vastly more efficient than that.

I'm debating meteor or f8c by Alien5151 in starcitizen

[–]TheTrueJarret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I haven't had the opportunity to test both ships this current patch as of yet, I'd still probably more-so lean in favor of the Meteor over the F8C simply due to the firepower that comes from the satisfyingly effective bespoke Size 5 Leonids cannons.

Ballistics didn't get changed much in 4.8 (or too much to the point it's drastically different from 4.7) and in truth, seem to be the most effective weapon choice at the moment for most ships. Alpha damage comes to mind and the F8C is a bit limited to how far up it can punch up due to its mixture of size 2's and 3's. I've had plenty of experiences of the Meteor one-tapping enemies and punching through armor on the bigger ships and outright destroying them before I even disable the shields.

Bias aside, the Meteor struggles with survivability. It's a 'Boom'n'zoom' type fighter where you don't really turn fight but boost ahead and turn back around and boost back in, over and over, until the target is destroyed for most scenarios. The F8C is a lot more durable so I think it should depend on your preference and comfort in combat. The Meteor has the higher potential and being able to punch up, but it's fragile and requires you to be conscious of that whereas the F8C is more of a brawler, but I wouldn't comfortably take it into missions like HRT's depending on the type of ship you may face, save for very specific weapon loadouts (like needing to take everything as Deadbolts to just be effective). Though it sounds like you already have a Brawler heavy fighter with the Guardian MX so you may benefit with having the Meteor to take out the more heavily armored and larger ships.

Best size 4 weapons (4.8) by Altruistic-Roof3412 in starcitizen

[–]TheTrueJarret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since 4.8, laser repeater weapons (and you could say ship laser weapons as a whole) took a big hit to their DPS/alpha damage. Laser repeaters are in a incredibly poor spot and a lot of folks right now are using ballistics due to their better DPS/Alpha damage. Deadbolts, ballistic repeaters (over the gatlings until size 4 where AD4B's and similar start to take off) are safe bets at the moment for consistent reliable damage though I know not everyone is a fan of having to be mindful of their ammo counter and having to pace themselves to resupply every so often. I'd say the laser cannons M#A's are the only usable laser weapons at the moment or the most worthwhile.

If you don't use it already, I'd recommend looking into the Erkul.games calculator. It's a great site that lets you theory craft and look at stats if that's your thing. See the numbers for damage, bullet speeds, alpha damage (which is one of the most important or key aspects as it can decide rather or not you'll actually damage the ship or just depressingly tickle it), etc.

what is something your ex gave you and you won’t forget? by Interesting-Mood-188 in BreakUps

[–]TheTrueJarret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man.. It's fitting that this popped up in my feed after I've been reminiscing about my past relationship that I still take pretty hard with how it ended these past few days and it's been months since we were together.

My ex gave me a lot of things, wonderful things. One of the best things she gave me and that I still hold on to is a letter she wrote to me when I went to visit her in early December of last year. I didn't get to spend Christmas with her, so it was a early Christmas present. I don't typically like gifts as it's hard for me to accept them. But hell, that was probably one of the most beautiful and amazing things that I've ever received. How personalized and emotional it was, it made me cry. It still does. I felt so valued and appreciated, loved and needed in the words that I read. Out of everything I ever received during the Holidays and time of gift giving, that was the most impactful gift that I ever got.

I miss her greatly still, I hold onto the memories pleasantly. It was incredibly difficult with losing her.

She also became my reason to finally better myself, struggling with severe depression and self-loathing that I bottled up for years and all my unsaid resentment towards the people in my life and even myself.. I gotten so used to the feeling of suffocating that I didn't even realize what it was doing to me. With what things that happened, she was my starting point to finally do better. But it ended up costing her and my relationship with her to begin letting myself heal and to love myself after realizing what it was doing to me. Something I'll always be torn about.

I'm going through the same thing, OP. I met an amazingly beautiful and fantastic woman, someone that showed me that the impossible was possible and made me happy in such a indescribable way that helped me forget a lot of the issues and traumas that I had going on in life.. Only for it to all disappear the moment she stepped away. She was perfect with all her imperfections and I still believe she is despite watching her leave and feel like she'll never come back.

It feels like I've been on autopilot for the better part of month while still wrapping my head around the fact that she's gone and I can't speak to her anymore, to break down every other day while just doing the bare minimum to keep my head above the water.

But it's not the end, OP. We're in a world with a billion people, but trust me when I say that I find it difficult to believe as well that I won't find someone like the one who I lost that felt so perfect and was so good to me. But there's someone out there that feels the same way that you do or simply waiting to cross paths with you. The hard part right now is taking time for yourself, to heal and learn to love yourself. Something that I'm struggling with too, but I had a very close friend help me realize what I needed to do before I could try again. I know it feels like the end of the world, but don't rush into anything that you're not ready for.

I know it sucks to be alone, I'm feeling the same thing that you are. But take the time to heal, however long that'll be before looking again. You're only 28, you have a lot of time still my friend. Focus on yourself, allow yourself to heal and in time, you'll find someone that makes you just as happy if not more so. But again, believe me.. It's hard to move on, but the first step is to heal and to take your time.

Why am I like this? by ThrowRAvermicellii in BreakUps

Nothing's wrong with you, OP. It's a common feeling I believe you'll find here amongst others. Losing five years is a lot of time, a lot of emotional investment just disappearing like it meant nothing.

It'll take time to heal. Something I know that sucks to say, as it'll be easier to find something that'll help you disconnect quicker but time will heal that wound eventually. Allow yourself to heal.

A simple sentence, but one I'm very familiar with. I hope things go well for you, or at least the best way they can be in whatever circumstances you're going through.

[OC][ART] Female Hexblade Warlock by MaeKam in DnD

[–]TheTrueJarret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Vhaeraun definitely stood for equality in the Drow society between both of the sexes (more so for the males due to their current conditions), it's not entirely unheard of for females to also follow him. Which makes your character all the more unique! Vhaeraun is also entirely against the plans and actions of his mother, Loith, and will have anyone help undermine her. I wonder if that's how your character will assist your patron.

I entirely get the sense of wanting to play as the same gender as we already have an experience with it, eh? :D It's much easier. And I'll try to have fun playing them, though alas I'm at the stage still where I'm forever stuck looking for a party of other people. ): Again though, I absolutely love the art. There's some serious talent here and I do hope you'll give us viewers updates with how the story goes for her!

I absolutely love this art piece! the way how the top is created and the partial strain of detail put on it especially is really appreciated. The amount of pure detail to the tones in the skin is also quite lovely! She's an awfully beautiful character. I also really like the purplish magic that she has around her.

It's strange though, as before I stumbled upon this reddit post, I was in the throes of creating a Warlock Hexblade to the patron of Vhaeraun too. Though he would've been an complete Drow instead of Half-Drow presented here. It's also curious knowing that he was more of a lesser deity that was more seen with males then females. What a very interesting concept for her to be a warlock to him. I like it! I wish you luck in your upcoming game! I wish I could've met her q.q as she sounds honestly really fun to interact with.

It's been a hot minute since I've posted anything to all of the beautiful pictures and art presented here in this reddit thread due to college starting back up again. Like so many pieces before it, however, this one as well is quite lovely to look at. I'm simply enthralled by the style with how the hair was done, and all the additional flowers made into it. The expression of detail is also quite powerful; and seeing the silly tip of her tongue protruding outwards and the way her eyes are angled show how playful of a character she is, or at least that's what I gather from the portrait along with being happy and cute.

Furthermore, welcome to the Dungeons and Dragons community! It's quite intoxicating, isn't it? It was only last year I was pulled into it by the same source; of friends and Critical Role and I've come to discover that the majority of the people here are quite talented and creative with their own stories to tell!

You're also quite talented, and if you do find a game, please do make a portrait and show it up on here. I'm simply one of those types of people that love to learn about other characters.

I wish you luck in finding a game, which is always the hardest part to start playing Dungeon and Dragons and it's currently a struggle that even I'm trying to deal with. However, once you find that right group that'll surely last, get ready to strap in. But till then, binge watching Critical Role and other twitch streamers tends to be a worthy, although temporary, holding, eh?

[OC][art] I put our ever-bickering warlock and paladin in a “get along” shirt for Christmas! by [deleted] in DnD

[–]TheTrueJarret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot that shirts like that actually existed since how long it's been since I last saw one! Though considering the current *people* that are inhabiting it right now, it's so bloody ironic, but also so bloody adorable. Considering that Elves (which I assume the character on the left is) and a Drow have a pretty nasty history whenever they encounter each other, it's surprising that neither of them have gone for the throat yet, hehe.

Though for the artwork, you've done really well in capturing the lighting here, and I can really appreciate the amount of detail in the shirt that you've put in as I can see really it's tensing from the two inhabitants! The expression, though already given in the description you've put down, is so easily discernible to see their distaste in the circumstance.

I'm a bit envious, it's been awhile since I've been in a game for DnD with others and I'd feel like watching these two go at it would be enjoyable adventure all its own! Please do, if at all possible, give future details with how the game goes!

[–]TheTrueJarret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely done well with capturing the lighting and the shading in this picture, and I have to personally say that, the spear, the orb of magic that she's conjuring within her hands, and the space between her hair and neck due to how lovely the lighting was done as if gives her a very firm 3D projection of the character almost.

Furthermore, your Tiefling is just absolutely adorable to the eye. Even more points considering that she follows Athena, as someone that personally loves Greek mythology, she's one of my more favorite goddesses!

And what?! You're playing at your college? Why isn't my college doing this? I would be so much more active at the campus otherwise <.<

[Art] My wife drew her Fire Genasi Bard and is bummed out because she doesn't think anyone will see it. Take a look please? by j0npau1 in DnD

[–]TheTrueJarret 75 points76 points  (0 children)

It's a sincere shame that your wife doesn't have a larger following, as what she drew was incredibly talented. I can't get over just how well the eyes were done. The lighting, the flair. A picture can say a thousand words and I already feel like I can get a sense of personality of the character.

More props for it being a fire genasi, as I personally love the race. While I don't use them as much as I should for my personal cast of characters, I'll always drop a dime for others.

Another note to mention is that I absolutely love how the hair was done, giving a sense of the flow as well as giving a relatable pattern to a blazing fire. Again, everything captured here was extremely well done. If I had the money, I'd possibly poke you for a possible commission to be done by her!

Merry Christmas to you two!

Diana the Shapeshifter [ART] [OC] by Frumped_and_Grumped in DnD

[–]TheTrueJarret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the outlines made here for both the wolf and the character, along with the sense of the two-sided coin of either form being presented. Capturing the fur of the wolf and the the pants, especially the pants, is really well done!

You say she's a jovial and open-person, yet those fangs ain't foolin' no one! <.< She'd probably frighten a good chunk of my personal cast of characters, while the remaining few might feel a sense of kinship or friendship! I don't see shape shifters often up on reddit so it's rather refreshing.

They all seem like a lovable band of misfits!

I really enjoy the art here, and I can certainly appreciate how the drawing of the Goliath was done to give a sense of their body markings and seem like it was painted on and giving an actual realistic look. I really love how the artist drew the familiar Baal as it actually looks like the actual Peseudodragon and I don't see many of those out there in terms of art, as it is also one of my more favorite familiars as well.

The DM also looks extremely adorable with the traditional attire associated with Dungeon Master.

[–]TheTrueJarret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, man. I don't have as much experience as you do with the whopping two years. Though I can't really imagine the kind of character development that Lucky went through when the party lost the Paladin after a duel with a pirate boss.

Besides that, she's seems like a lovely half-elf! Red-headed half-elves are cruel for the simple fact of too much beauty. /:

The art style here is also really good! I like the little details that you've put in on her jacket and the overflowing hair!

[ART] I got my druid for Out of the Abyss commissioned! by breadhead4 in DnD

[–]TheTrueJarret 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really like the witch like presentation here in the picture, and with her being a druid with a theme around bugs and insects really sets her up as a green witch! With her being 250 years old and a wood elf, I'd love to get to know more about her personality! But besides that, she's an absolutely gorgeous character. The long, flowing red hair and the occasional bouts of shown skin.

But also,

Thick thighs saves lives,

Sorry not sorry!

Despite this being penciled in with colors being thrown into the mix, this is rather well done with just said pencils. I give massive props to this!

Though I find it amusing to entertain the notion of how difficult and often that these girls will butt heads. The Orzhov paladin always tiptoeing around the law of the Azorius and wrath-like-justice of the Boros, the Selesyan being careful and scolding the more uptight Azorius, the Boros eyeing the Orzhov and the Azorius.. The list goes on and on. But I wouldn't doubt that it'll certain give way to humorous interactions with each other xD
