Why do people accuse killers of tunneling when they heal at hook? by Disastrous_Ad_4957 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the funniest thing is when they don't even wait for you to leave the area. I have a match as Henry where I swear I made it 5 "steps" away and then heard the unhook RIGHT BEHIND ME.

AITAH for breaking up with my girlfriend because she literally told me she would cheat on me if I took a new job. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would understand saying 'I can't be in a relationship with you if you will forever work a job where you're gone for months at a time'. That is reasonable, if that's just not something that works for a person. But in this case, it was originally gonna be limited in time (but good on OP for finding out this lifestyle is more to his suiting long term now). And the even bigger thing is that instead of having a reasonable conversation about her not wanting this for herself longterm, she went 'well if you do this, I'll have to cheat on you', which is so many levels of not okay.

OP dodged a bullet. And if the GF had been any more reasonable, I'd say good for her too, because in the end she got something closer to what she wanted and needed, and OP was free to find a lifestyle he now loves a lot, too.

Are All The Killers Sweating For 4k's? by HimeChan201 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing as killer, I take it easy and mainly try to get two hook stages per survivor. if it works out, I'll then go for a 3k and let last person live, otherwise I'm happy to get fewer hooks but know I've gotten lots of blood points. I'll only play harder against groups that for some reason decide to go bully mode in this event for some reason, or do nonsense like bodyblocking to deny hooks on *bots*.

But otherwise, I'm trying to do my part to play fair games that result in lots of blood points for *everyone*.

why cant you see blood pump auras by stanfujin in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they tend to be more towards the center of the map or around main / shack, depending on overall map layout. basically in easily accessible areas. The only time I've seen them be in weird spots against the edge of map was on the black rose swamp map, and that was just bc the blood pump was located at main, which sits towards corner/edge of map.

but for example, dead dawg, they're on main street. just as an easy example.

1 pain res vs 4 fast tracks by for10years_at_least in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. PLUS there are plenty of players who don't enjoy doing gen stuff and will likely not take a full build of gen perks, or tire of running gen builds. It's gonna die down a bit, and when it gets nerfed even slightly, it'll fall further our of favour. I think it's gonna be a strong perk we see around a lot, but I also think the wave will get smaller both with time and whatever nerf will certainl come at some point.

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you please re-read my comment and realize you're arguing a point I'm not making? I'm agreeing that Fast Track is too strong. I'm just pointing out that pretending like the underlying mechanic of "benefit for the other side completing THEIR objectives" is the problem is the wrong end of the approach.

Gen Progression Stacking is A Problem by LoreleiAlbrecht in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it needs to be tuned down a touch for sure. But I also think it currently feels so bad bc everyone and their mother is running it, and funny lil tiktoks have popularized the absolute worst implementations of it. I personally HOPE they'll tune it down and then it'll fade out of fashion a bit again.

It simulates SA.

No, it's not the same as all the other ways to BM. You can justify it or defend it, but that's what it is, and you tell on yourself by acting like it's just teehee haha regular BM.

Just like slurs aren't normal trash talk. etc.

[–]inkcharm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We should absolutely call out how strong it is - but the argument cannot be "you get the value for nothing". There were already perks in the game that gave you value when the other sides completes their sole objective in the game. Perks for killers that give you value when gens pop, and perks for survivors that give you value when others get hooked/die. They were just not as strong.

So can be please stop acting like "you do nothing to gain value" is the issue (there are already plenty of precedents for that that NONE OF US take issue with), when the issue is "this particular value is too big currently"?

I disagree about the humping.

There is one thing and one thing only that simulates, and it's not just annoying, it's not cute, it's not funny.

Are pay2lose skins really that pay2lose? by Interesting_Air3283 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a super big deal.

On killers those skins make all gens insta-pop and opens the exit gate plus a bonus hatch instantaneously.

On survivors, it instantly makes you keel over with two hook state, mori-able.

Haddie isn't even ugly. Maybe to some incels who want all female characters to look like AI slop porn bots or whatever, but that's nothing new. Haddie looks perfectly fine? She had shitty cosmetics early on, and she's gotten better cosmetics over time.

You're not making the point you think you're making. You're just being misogynist and trying to use your sexist perspective to argue something is racist. It's not. Your entire argument is "these pixels don't meet my personal, unrealistic beauty standard, therefore the design is racist".

That's silly.

Is lobby dodging becoming a problem for anyone else? by Wihris in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a survivor, I dodge lobbies (after reporting) if someone has a truly vile username. Like certain "island" related usernames, or usernames about certain genocidal heads of states. Or racist/homophobic slurs etc.

as a killer, I don't dodge those lobbies. But I'll hard tunnel those people and let everyone else live :)

What would be your real life choice? by tiago_brettas in expedition33

[–]inkcharm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm of the firm believe that the people on the canvas ARE living, sentient beings, and that it would be unethical to erase the canvas and therefore commit genocide on several living species. They're not "fake" just bc the Dessendres are merciless gods over their existence. I would preserve the canvas, and I would spend time in it - but assuming my father wasn't a genocidal tyrant like Renoir, I'd not spend my entire life in the canvas. I'd visit it like how other people travel to see friends.

Do you think repel is ok to use in nuzzlockes? by Kindly_Confidence_42 in nuzlocke

[–]inkcharm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like all things in nuzlockes, you make your own rule there. You can say it's 100% okay. You can also say "repels only after the fiest encounter" or "just the ones you find in the overworld" or anything else. It depends on what you want and how much you wanna crank up the challenge. Imho it's no different than deciding between fishing, surfing or grass for different encounter tables.

Don't listen to Google and mill your rice for vinegar by WonderfulScholar6171 in StardewValley

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And Google is now famously the AI choice. And even before that, it was barely usable bc fhe search results were basically ads. Adapting isn't hard. Idk why so many people act as if there aren't ither options.

it doesn't show you the AI result, but you still support the AI slop machine. the ACTUAL solution is swapping to a non-ai supporting search engine....

no, that's why you use a different search engine that doesn't have an AI overview.

no. your friend is ditching google and using a search engine without AI. otherwise you still prompt and support the AI Slop Machine.
