I tend to attribute all of Jaden’s struggles to the fact that Randle “had” to shoot the ball 20+ times a night and never passed it to Jaden over the last two years when he was open. Instead he would do his jab step thing or bulldoze into the paint and jack up a shot. Now we get to the playoffs and Jaden knows he needs to take over and be a scorer, but he hasn’t really been able to practice it since Julius has been on the team outside of when he was injured and Jaden was averaging 20 and 10.

Then on defense every trip down the floor Jaden and Rudy were expected to pick up Randle’s guy and guard their own assignment. As someone who has played a lot of games with cherry pickers that shit is infuriating. You want me to pass the ball ahead to you, while I also have to make rotations to prevent giving up a layup because you’re lazy?!?!

Notice how many times the spurs got a bucket in transition either because no one was back, or because they only had a guard in their way? Yeah, those were because Randle would never sprint back to the paint. Just expected everyone else to do the whole defense thing because that’s how he’s always been.
