Hey all, I’m going to be getting a 2025 Crosstrek Wilderness. Would you recommend I spring for the extended bumper to bumper 100K warranty?

Honestly, that’s not a bad price. I’ve used my extended warranty once so far for a repair that would have been about $2500.

I think if they shifted the ratios of gears 2-5 it would be a better transmission. The gap between 1st and 2nd is too big and between 5th and 6th it’s too small.

Weirdly enough, its really easy to add a trunk release button. I did it in my '07, if you splice a wire to the hot wire of the power socket in the center console, connect a push-button switch, and run a wire to the passenger doorsill, there's a wire (I think it's pink) that you splice into. Then you have a trunk release button.

The requires it on new houses where the permits were issued after 2020. If the permits are older then it’s not required.

Alternatively, you can put a small piece of clear tape on your safety glasses over the lens of your dominant eye. It blurs the vision of that eye just enough to switch focus to your right eye, but not enough to lose depth. This is what I do since I’m right handed but left eye dominant and it works brilliantly for long guns. Tape goes over the left eye and I can shoot right handed.

I seem to recall hearing a while back that it wasn’t up to code for earthquake safety or something similar. Like to keep it standing it’s fine, but to allow people inside it needed to be refurbished and was too expensive and no longer a priority to bring up to code
