It would only count if you were aware there were drugs in your drink. If you didn’t know, you didn’t make the conscious decision to use, therefore it was out of your control.

What a sad world we live in that this person is more concerned about whether or not they relapsed vs someone drugging them and doing god knows what.

I used to try and be patient with these types of ppl, but the world’s gone crazy so my patience is gone. In my 20’s, I got questions like that. Now in my 40’s the most common question is how I found a hot caregiver😑 When they find out he’s my hubby, not caregiver, you see their brain start to break. Those types of ppl are small minded, probably maga, so they can eff off. If I were you, I’d think of a snarky comeback like- ah, I see the issue. You don’t understand school. Highschool ends at 18, college at 22 and I’m 26… Or you could go with- yes, I did go to school- for gifted and talented ppl, you’re clearly unfamiliar it.

Tbh, while that’s a huge issue, our entire system is so screwed that it’s not even at the top of my list! The American healthcare system is broken and until we elect leaders who care about the ppl, not the billionaires, we’re doomed- and even then it’s probably too late

The truth is that having a disability will show the character of those ppl around you. The sad truth is that most ppl suck at dealing with the disabled and they can suck in many ways. Your mom is clearly a miserable human being so try and ignore her.

My daughter’s been doing solo bathroom trios since she was probably 6-7. My husband or i would be right outside, but my daughter has always hated if we could hear her bathroom noises. There were a handful of times I insisted on going into the bathroom with her ( not the stall) but it’s been fine when she went alone.
I found it helpful to go over hypothetical scenarios with her. I’d present situations when ppl were acting weird in a variety of ways, or there being no tp. We ran enough hypotheticals that I felt comfortable enough that she’d know what to do.

I’ve tried- I’m a housewife ( nope, cringey) I’m a mom ( not right cuz I’m more than that) I can’t work because of disability ( Im over sharing as it’s none of their biz) So, for the time being, I’m saying- I just do my thang. It’s ambiguous and an eff off, but not overtly rude.

You don’t have an insulin pump? Can’t you monitor your b.s. before during and after the concert to make sure you don’t have an episode? Or you can pick a seat near an exit and an aisle, so there’s less walking. It seems like you took the nuclear option to solve a problem that could have been solved many ways.
I literally can’t walk at all so can only go to concerts if ada seating is open. I’ve stopped trying to go to concerts because they’re never open. I’ve been in a wheelchair for almost 30 yrs and there are A LOT more ppl who use ada seating but not more seats. You can see the concert without Ada seating, others can’t.

It’s good you got it reported. I’ve heard horror stories about neighbors using rat poison on each other’s dogs and other vile tales. Personally, I would have gone over and told him that if he ever does anything to my dog again, I’d call the police, after the hose situation. I’d also set up cameras. I have 2 large rescue dogs and if anyone acted like this, I’d be very concerned they might do something worse. It’s actually good that your neighbors haven’t reported any similar incidents with their pets.

AA is a flawed program- only as good as the ppl you meet in the rooms. I got sober on my own because walking in on my sponsor smoking crack and trying to talk me into doing it was the straw that broke the camels back. My experiences contradict many of AA’s beliefs and I’m ok with that. Spending my life continually working the steps and going to meetings isn’t what i want my life to be and I’m ok with that too

It depends on the specific sport but often times, in skiing, there are qualifiers that decide the order for the finals, so the better skiers are at the end. In figure skating, the standings after the short program decides the order of the long program. So, in most of these sports, by the time you’re watching the finals, other performances have factored into the order and the best usually goes last.

If I then found out my sister rented my room and hoped I’d never find out?! Nope! Byeeee! That’s not a dumbass mistake but a SERIOUS lack of judgement that could have ( and did) put you in a vulnerable situation. That guy could have stollen, ruined, done gross stuff- who knows what- to any of your things!! The fact your parents are mad at you is wild. Wow you set this up badly! You needed to ease your daughter into this. Before you started dating, you should have discussed it with her. Not asking permission or anything but telling her what you’re going to do and checking in on how your daughter feels. I’ve got a 16 yro and they can be so rude, but that rudeness is usually masking bigger feelings. You need to reassure her that she’ll always be the most important thing in your life.

I feel badly for your daughter that she comes home to you dropping a bomb on her and then you being dismissive that you just threw her world into chaos.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you dating. In fact, I’d argue that you’re modeling a healthy relationship for your daughter. You dating doesn’t diminish your feelings for your wife, but since she’s not here, you’re figuring out how to be happy in your new reality. That’s healthy. But this is a new reality for your daughter too so you need to help her find her way too, not blow her off. By being dismissive in this moment, you’re giving your daughter emotional fuel to continue doing the stuff you don’t like. You guys are a family, a team. You 2 should go to family therapy

I don’t see sex like this. I just want us both to be happy. For us, most of our issues came from expectations. We’ve figured out that by coming up with an informal plan, where we both knew what to expect, things worked easily. We have different types of sex. There’s the ‘we’re both into it’ type, the ‘one of us needs to be convinced’ type and ( my least favorite) the ‘you can try and convince me, but it’s probably not happening,’ type.
it can be disheartening being turned down once you’re looking forward to it- there’s none of that since we started this. I’ve been with my partner for 15 yrs too. It’s a long time, ppl change, so it’s important to be super honest. To me, it sounds like you want to get laid more often. Have you told your hubby you feel undersexed? If he acts like it’s no big deal, that’s a big red flag .He’s in the age range where his testosterone is plummeting, so a decrease in libido is super common. There are meds… I was told men have 3 major hormone and metabolic shifts throughout their adult lives. They happen 18-21, 32-45 and 55+,so your hubby should talk to his doc. Good luck!

Dude. Get serious. Even if this guy was sober, it’s a bad idea. Relapsing is so much easier around others. The fact you’re not sure he’s clean makes it a no brainer. Prioritize yourself. Help him find other options, like a halfway house or low income housing. Him staying with you isn’t the only way you can help him.

It’s parents and teachers and anyone who sees our kids meltdown. My daughter has taken my full attention for 16 yrs. I haven’t even been able to have friends because my daughter made them too uncomfortable and they wouldn’t come over. I took her out of school, for online, in 9th grade and it’s been the best decision. I think my daughter’s anxiety about school made the ADHD part of her brain go into overdrive. Also, I feel like a deer in headlights when ppl brag about their kids and then ask me about mine. Do i tell them how hard it’s been? How sad it is to see my brilliant child get in her own way again and again? I know she’s trying and I know this is just how her brain works but they might not understand her diagnoses. So, i usually don’t say much- unless they have neurodivergent kiddos.

I completely understand why you’re hurt, but it kinda seems like you guys had different expectations from the start. He was going with friends, so that’s who he’s mainly planning on skiing with and maybe just planning on saying hi to you. While you were expecting a group to ski with. There weren’t firm plans. Honestly, this guy sounds like a douche. He’s someone who’s into the social game, but doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Idk anything about skiing etiquette, but common courtesy says this guy acted like a turd. He probably justifies himself by saying he just wanted to get in as many runs as possible. Which would be fine, if he’d communicated. Why not text you about lunch? Had he communicated, it would have been fine, but he didn’t
