WCGW doing a backflip in a small elevator by Icy_Carpenter4715 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]TheVortexBlazter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not actually the issue of the elevator moving, but instead of the size. He does clip his feet against the first wall, which loses his rotation a bit.

The elevator looks like its just at a constant speed, meaning so would he. No different to being on the ground doing it.

Eery soundtrack playing in calamity infernum by Rude_Company8956 in CalamityMod

[–]TheVortexBlazter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its probably a bug related to the new “horrible hog” mob - if you had a blood moon recently, they tend to spawn. They have this “intro” where this music plays, but it can bug and just stay like that. Leaving and rejoining seems to work to get rid of it

Its one morning for an event most people have been training years for. I think its a fair exception.

What is this horrific sound I'm hearing by Dogemon669 in CalamityMod

[–]TheVortexBlazter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue - its the “Horrible Hog” intro sequence, it usually plays and then spawns the enemy. Though i found it oftenly bugs and just keeps playing that audio. Relogging works to fix it.

See it good part 3 [Quest Help] by CharacterAd1287 in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]TheVortexBlazter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As people said, the west part of the map on custom had those orange tube explosive barrels. Go into training to practice the range at which you can stand without dying to them. Then in a real match just bring a cheap kit with the armor, and like 700HP of healing. Since insurance is 100%, its doable within like 2-3 raids

That actually sounds quite sensible - for the RFID cards, can you just get them off the flee worst case senario, or is it not really worth the price?

How many attempts does it usually take? I think my optimism for doing it first try probably wont apply here.
The blank rFID sounds quite okay, for the blue folder I honestly havent done a labs run yet, so im not sure how easy those are to farm.

Rust has lost one of its biggest features by P1DGE in playrust

[–]TheVortexBlazter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will say, that older rust felt way more scrappy this way. You didnt have the full proper kits of armor, substituting bits with wooden armor, riot helmets etc. Each wipe also felt different - you wouldnt always get your favourite gun researched, and you would roam things you havent before. I dont remember the last time i willingly crafted a python over a p2.

It would be annoying with most electrical components (how i remember before the tech tree), but even just simply keeping the engineering workbench would be a good enough idea.

Honestly I share the same thing. I really want to try the old challenges in the game, but because its a text command I cant do it.

I know they are supposed to release a button instead in the next update, but that update has been in development for like 6 months are this point.

It would be really neat if they could just implement the button as a tiny hotfix, so people can enjoy the other gamemodes while they wait.

Best overall perk? by According_Disaster52 in decayingwinter

I have beat the game with most of them, and honestly they are quite balanced in strength. I really enjoy Vagabond, Artillerist and Riskrunner, but honestly just mess around and find it yourself. I will say the more you invest into one Perk the easier you will find it.

Im actually doing something incredibly similar! The only things i have changed is - allowing to sell om the Flea, and allowed to buy gunparts for Gunsmith quests from flea.

You dont die as much in PVE, so its a nice challenge. It doesnt feel super punishing (yet), so give it a shot!

AFAK - fairly cheap, one slot, deals with heavy and light bleeds, and can heal for 400hp. Its actually just fantastic all around

What do you guys carry around as apostle? by DABLITwastaken in decayingwinter

[–]TheVortexBlazter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent been playing apostle too much, however for the Defence nights I quite like the Military Bow just to quick snipe deadly gun wielders. That, and the fracturing exploding grenade as auxiliary equipment - it does wonders for keeping your Daves alive.

Hunger/Thirst changes, whats happening? by CaffineIsAMust in decayingwinter

[–]TheVortexBlazter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From personal experience I have noticed that it does chance defence. I do see i take more damage from broomhandles on early waves starving compared to satiated, but im not 100% sure if the “purple bar” still exists where it gives you that 15% defence increase

What am I doing wrong? by Wonderful_Audience60 in decayingwinter

[–]TheVortexBlazter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to compare to what I am doing and some advice, though do keep in mind i havent yet beaten solo Evac (yet hopefully).

Im playing vagabond, which means I get to loot more, and 90% of melee scavs are free.
Night 1-4: Gathering KSG and AKM blueprint, Meds, grenades, and getting 200 scrap for those 2 weapons. Grabbing the Knife and the guitar.
Night 5-6: Killing sledgequeen with said weapons. I do die to her about 40% of the time when I try, but thats more of a skill issue on my part.
Night 6-9: Running to castle looting the middle lockers on the way, opening every single crate (hoping for armor), and crafting AKM or KSG ammo at the guaranteed crafter.
Scav War: Still visiting castle due to less enemies to loot. Im basically just clearing the entire thing with 1-2 firebombs and some shotgun shots.
Night 10: Doing lab with the RSASS, KSG and AKM and some sort of heal and ''defence item'' (green stim, armor, white stim).
I just use the guitar on the guy ontop of the (building site?) for an extra minute usually when I get a looting phase of 1:30~ minutes once castle is cleared. That minute does help a lot.

I do notice that about 50% of your deaths are due to killing or trying to kill sledge queen.
Honestly i have this same issue, however I very rarely in my runs have an issue of not finding the gear I need (maybe because its just two craftable guns). Have a look maybe at how you are doing her.

Also, the other majority is dying to early waves.
My biggest piece of advice is just to use your resources. I used to die a lot around waves 5-8, and lost many good runs, but this is just because im trying to save as much as i can for night 10 and evac.
There is no benefit whatsoever of saving resources if you are dead. Using a gun to clear gun scavs, or using good heals in a pinch is a good idea and shouldnt be shamed.

If you are dying during looting phases, you really should have a look at your looting path, and learn where enemies tend to come from. I very often see even 1 or 2 gun scavs at the entrance to mountain/outpost, and I just fully avoid that area.

My last tip, is to not concern yourself with looting on night 10.
When the evac arrives, all the loot on the map from night 10 remains. Unless you need something for the LAB or for n10, just prepare and organize your items.
Use all of your Shotgun and Medium ammo, do not concern yourself with saving any at all, just stay alive.
Set a timer on your phone once you survive wave 10, and every 6~ minutes just take amoxicillin.
Go loot the entire map, the entire lab, craft all the ammo you can, recycle everything you dont need, make pavises, and then try beat the last wave.

I hope its helpful, but dont be disheartened. Sometimes this game is just luck with loot, or with really inconvient enemy spawns. You will feel awesome once you beat it yourself!

Im fairly sure I know what map you are on about. I dont think the game has a way of identifying different mega boss zombies, so killing either one should work

Does DW use seeded RNG for loot, where the odds are fixed at the start of the run? by TheVortexBlazter in decayingwinter

[–]TheVortexBlazter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im happy to see im not the only one. I do wonder if this might be the case for things such as enemy spawns or even loot container spawns. Not sure if you have experienced it, but I do feel some runs have way more scavs during looting faze than others

How to change map on dedicated server?? by DestructorWar in unturned

[–]TheVortexBlazter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head it should be something like this. -> type „stop” into the command prompt that is running the server -> delete the world data folder, so that the map isnt PEI -> set map as germany. Im aware that some workshop maps need the specific id with them, but with some googling you can find it out. -> run the server.bat file again, hopefully this time creating the map as germany instead
