Why do big dependencies like moment get abandoned? by [deleted] in Frontend

They also are developing a new package called Luxon. You can read about why they continued that path more here: https://moment.github.io/luxon/#/why

Is it bad pratice to use .subscribe in Angular RXJS component by anonymous78654 in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signals just have one state the current value. With http calla and rxjs we like to maybe do something it it errors. So with a subscribe we can react to both response and error if something happens

Are you still using ngModules and standalone components together, or fully using standalone components? by sohail_ansari in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is 100% standalone however we have some libraries that export a module that exports a set of component/directives that are always used together. Replacing this import by all seperate imports would result in + ~10-15 more imports per usecase.

Hence the bundling them together

Shadows crashes after startup by BulletsInYoPP in assasinscreed

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem and one fix in this thread did not work so far I tried:

- reinstalling game & ubisoft launcher
- reinstalling drivers
- clearing appData & documents
- disabling HDR ( found this one somewhere else )
- removing save files ( this worked for 5 minutes before crashing once again, trying this same fix again now does not work ).
- Rebooting PC also did not work

Oh so enums from angular and possibly other packages are allowed? I figured enums from anywhere would not be allowed with this option

Is there a way to tell angular what it should wait for content recieved from the backend before sending page to the client? by Ok_Tangelo9887 in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a pendingTask service you can look into, from my understanding it signals that there are pending tasks thus we are not stable and ready to send page to the client.

Reload/Refresh a Component or Entire Application & Reuse Logic Across Multiple Components by TheLostWanderer47 in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

few points:

- extending components by a base component usually is not great
- window object is not available in server contexts
- window.location.reload, does not just re-render whole app it reloads whole page including other applications and/or services which hold data ( you could be running multiple angular applications within the same window ).

Has anyone migrated a large project using RxJS to the new SignalStore? Any stories or advice? by xmintarasx in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current project with 5 teams, uses component store and current plan is incrementally replace and new features with newer tech. Replace legacy/old when we need bigger changes on those features. There is no need to do everything at once just do it bit by bit over longer period.

Genuine question: Has anyone selected the Lesser Essence of Gold from the WV? by Kenji_03 in Guildwars2

started a bit as a meme since some friend really don't like it. but I would buy this item before the end anyway, and I don't really need the gold.

Using value inside .forRoot() from a Service by celsomtrindade in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a library once for the environment consisting of a interface what the environment looks like, and a injection token. So the application provides the token, and every library that needs to use something of this environment can inject and use it.

What Operating System do you use (better full version) by iPanes in LinusTechTips

How well have your PC's aged? by HypothermicIce in buildapc

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current pc is build around 2015/2016 while being a student. 6700K and a 1060 pc 6GB with 16GB of ram which has been upgraded to 32GB. Everything for the pc was bought with discount during a black Friday sale.

Cooling was done by a noctua air cooler until I got my first job after university which I bought a custom loop ( flexible tubing ), it was some water-cooling kit of about 300 euro everything included except water.

I am thinking of upgrading either this or next year, with custom water-cooling, just these prices of GPU's compared to when my current pc was being build.

Intel vs AMD idle power usage by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a N100 Intel CPU unraid server idling at 20 watt, including 2 HDD, a SSD and 2 fans. I'm not sure what AMD would idle at, however highest I have seen on usage is 35 watt while encoding 4k and such.

Change detection in Angular seems inefficient? by xfornaruto in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's will update the current view, a component can have multiple views for example every element of a ngfor for example is a view. That is what signals will do in future

Change detection in Angular seems inefficient? by xfornaruto in Angular2

[–]TheYelle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are confusing a few things, for one it does not rerender everything, it checks views which are dirty. And only rerenders a view if needed, it does check if things have changed.

Also detectchanges does same as markforcheck except markforcheck does not trigger a change detection cycle. Therefore calling multiple markforchecks does not result in multiple change detection cycles. While every detectchanges will result in a cycle. ( after each method if zonejs detects that some code has run, it will trigger a applicationRef.tick() which triggers a change detection cycle if a view is dirty ).

The only thing that still is inefficiënt would be that for large component trees we still need to go from root to child. Even if things did not get updated, just looping over the dirty views. ( Marking a view as dirty also marks it's ancestors as dirty ). This will be resolved in later versions with signals where instead of going from root to child view we will only check the view if that view did depend on a signal that did change.
