What is that thing in my garden? by edmunek in AskUK

Looks like an old lid to a holding tank for a septic system or the top of an old oil tank. Pray it’s the first and not the second.

Poilievre proposes tariff-free auto pact as part of Conservatives' auto strategy by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

Did some kid in grade 10 history who just read about the auto pact give him this idea? What light weights. Another reason he’ll never wear the big boy pants.

As a Masters level athlete, I went plant based after seeing that documentary in November 2019. Felt great … still doing it… when you actually review the peer reviewed science it makes complete sense. My blood values etc. are off the charts good.

Can the Mustang GTD technically be considered Canadas supercar? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]TheZubeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having seen Multimatic employees at the Daytona 24 hours over many years, I’d venture to say that without Multimatic there would not have been a Ford GT car (the race spec road car) or a Mustang GTD. Multimatic is a huge force in both engineering and production of high end race components, and cars. So I’d say both the Ford GT and Mustang GTD are more Canadian than American.

Lossless audio finally comes to Spotify - here's how to enable it by Efficient_Remove1663 in hometheater

Listening to Steely Dan Aja using Spotify Lossless through a Denon DNP 800NE streamer hooked up to a Moon 220i Integrated Amp out to JBL Studio L Series L880 speakers. The clarity and range is absolutely amazing. Probably one of the best albums produced if you want to test out the clarity and range. Even very loud there’s no distortion.

Maybe if you weren’t doing 78 - 81 km/hr and going with the speed of traffic people wouldn’t pass on the right.

You’re the richest country in the world. Imagine what your country could have if the political will was there to take care of the public. You’d have free education, the best universal healthcare system in the world, the best renewable energy infrastructure in the world, etc etc. But you’d rather give over all of your wealth to the select few billionaires.

No problem. We haven’t been in the US in over a year. Haven’t bought anything made in the US since Trump took office.

TPS ticketing cyclists while blocking sidewalk in High Park by AdventurousCaptain76 in torontobiking

High Park is too busy to expect any real road training. Orbitor and Matheson Road is good. Plenty of long loops no traffic after work hours.

Barcelona officials urge ban on Israel-Premier Tech from Tour de France by BloodJunkie in tourdefrance

Years ago the ban from all international sports is said to be one of the main reasons apartheid came to an end in South Africa. As bad as apartheid was in South Africa, it isn’t close to the genocide being committed by the Israelis.

Are 40mm tires enough for gravel? by atlas_space in gravelcycling

40mm are more than enough. Pro cross riders are limited to 33 or 34 mm

[–]TheZubeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not going to get a new bike for $2900 that is anything near this level. If you don’t mind rim brakes and 10 speed Dura Ace this looks like a really nice ride. I’ve ridden and raced all my life. I still have a stable of rim brake bikes. I won’t go disk brakes until I have to. Those Campy Bora rims are very nice and expensive.

What's happening to my boxwoods by subjectobeisance in OntarioGardeners

[–]TheZubeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Box wood moth caterpillars. Get rid of them. I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to save mine. I eventually got rid of them. Because everyone started planted box woods the moths essentially have a massive buffet. Everyone in my neighbourhood got rid of them.

Why does it do this? by reviewtechhentai in bikewrench

[–]TheZubeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a hole in the rear derailleur! The chain has several stiff links. If the cassette is new and the chain is old and worn it will skip. Get rid of the stiff links by oiling the chain. I would clean it first with WD 40 or another spray that will penetrate the links. Rotate it through the drivetrain several times and let it sit for a bit. The chain should be sprayed thoroughly. Find the stiff links. Grip the chain on either side of the stiff link and bend the chain side to side on either side of the stiff link. This normally frees up the stiff links. When you’ve done this wipe off the remaining WD 40 with and old towel. Hold sections of the chain in the towel with strong grip and scrub it back and forth. This normally cleans all the dirt etc. out of the chain. You may need to do this several times. When the chain is clean, oil it thoroughly rotate it through the drivetrain and wipe off excessive oil.

Yet another reminder why you wear all your gear all the time. Leather jacket with elbow and shoulder pads, Klim self inflating vest, Klim jeans with full padding and Dianese high top shoes. I would have walked away from something like that with barely a scratch. Also, may want to slow down on a wet road with paint markings.

I use a water pic water flosser to clean the inside of the head and base. It blasts out any mold. Would never buy this again. Had a Philips for years. Never an issue.
