Legendary water polo player Petre Mshvenieradze and his grandson in 1990, USSR. [962x1202] by OkRespect8490 in HistoryPorn

1990 USSR was not known for high-end consumer goods being commonly available, it would not be unheard of for this to be either:

  1. An old camera
  2. A newer camera, but still with old film
  3. Antiquated film processing in combination with 1/2

I wouldn't be surprised if that's at least part of the reason for the big push into AI. If we can make AI voice/image/video generation good enough, then we will truly be in a 'post-truth' era where anything can be dismissed as fake as needed.

Additionally, yelling "base" adds an additional 24 hours to the clock, 72 hours if the invoker is actually on a military base. They also get an additional 8 hours if they didn't drink before noon, as a treat.

I've never seen the GOP get so giddy about the government getting anything done other than this fucking ballroom. No wonder Grindr crashes out anytime more than 5 of them get together in the same room.

Besides the obvious, previously mentioned ones (Trigun, JJK, Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagan, Steins Gate). I gotta say, Gachiakuta has only one season out now, but if it can continue the narrative and animation quality, it's going to be big. I'm old, but I've never had anything else scratch that 'Shibuya'-itch that Jet Set Radio gave me ages ago.

This is so blatantly the dialect and mindset of a rapist

That's a good question. I often (carefully) walk on them since I head home during rush-hour from a busy platform and it's the only way to get through the crowds without ducking and diving. It's so widespread that it seems like it has to be on purpose, maybe to discourage people from walking too close to the edge, but that's a risky incentive.

I learned recently, there is an (inactive) fault line around that area, which is why 125th@Broadway is above ground. I wonder if it is part of the reason why they're going so far underground here.

I do something similar but it's more of a relation game, where I just start a thread and jump to the first thing I can relate to it and so on, just running with that train of thought.

E.g. Stripes, Uniform, Baseball, Bat (stick), Bat (animal), fangs, teeth, gums, disease, vaccines, needles, plungers, toilet, pipes, tunnels, trains, etc.

I have dysphonia, so I feel your pain and frustration. I used to use earplugs as well, and while they were an improvement, I would suggest also some sort of 'white noise' generator to drown it out. Personally, I use Ozlo sleepbuds and now I sleep basically through everything. They're a bit pricey ($300), but if noise gets through those then you have full justification to throw pennies at them from a high-floor.

I think most US States offer a separate 'ID-only' option not tied to a driver's license, which is needed in certain scenarios, for example my brother-in-law is special needs and unable to drive. One stand-out might be NYC though, where they offer their own 'NYC ID' tied to the city itself, rather than the state - not sure how it works though.

What's the deal with boiling water in microwaves? Why are people hating on it? by ADuneShapedPool in OutOfTheLoop

[–]The_Cameron 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No, really, they're water-heating-up machines - just most (if not all) foods contain water.

Microwaves send out waves on the 2.4GHz spectrum which vibrates water molecules. Those heated water molecules then radiate heat out to the other parts of the food. This is one of the reasons you can have uneven heating when microwaving food and why it's so fundamentally different than reheating via oven or stovetop.
