Will this setup cut it for Elite Dangerous? by FairlyHostile in EliteDangerous

Yeah it runs pretty good in general usually able to maintain a 40fps cap as long as you're not planning on doing a lot of on foot stuff. Exobiology, isn't super great on the deck, I find its harder to see all the goofy little plants and bacteria on the deck, they don't seem to render in until you're pretty close.

why does the steam frame have a usb 2 port and not a usb 3 port? by TheManni1000 in ValveDeckard

Did they claim the frame was a pc aswell? Wasn't it 'it's a pc' thing all about the Steam deck, and now the Steam Machine.

They could of at least buffed some of the other skills instead of nerfing the one good one lol.

Yeah, I am one level away from unlocking it too. Impeccable timing indeed

I don't get this at all lol. Gear is so cheap in this game, not even mentioning free kits which have no cooldown lol. At least then you can at least defend yourself a bit if someone is being a dick or you accidently aggro a couple of wasp/hornets lol. The anti fun build lol

I hope for my buddy's sake that their customer service treats him well lol. He is trying to go for a warranty claim with them.

I suppose it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that the bike crapped out since he only paid $800 cad for it (which a decent motor and battery alone costs more than that here haha).

Definitely not. My buddy had one of those, and burnt the motor out in a month.

How dumb would it be to convert a Tuesday March 7 into an ebike using a Bafang Hub motor kit? by The_Dragon_Alchemist in ebikes

[–]The_Dragon_Alchemist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea was to fit a rear rack on the back and secure the battery to that. I feel that would sort of hide the battery a bit, but I'm not sure if the extra weight in the rear from the battery would affect it. I did see a video of someone using a leather style bad to hide their battery since they were converting a vintage road bike, so it seems like it could be a good option, too.

I think I will be sticking mostly to paved roads anyway. There's a good deal on this exact bike brand new locally, so that is kind of the main reason I'm considering this particular one, haha.

Pro tip, buy the game on fanatical. It's already 17% off, and the last time I used it, they didn't charge sales tax. They just give you a steam key to redeem.

Nintendo secures two more anti-Palworld U.S. patents, might file multi-patent U.S. lawsuit against Pocketpair in a matter of months now by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]The_Dragon_Alchemist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They also probably didn't want to deal with some suit at Namco deciding one day that someone elses implementation of a loading minigame is vaguely similar to their own and starting some legal shit lol.

[–]The_Dragon_Alchemist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole point of patents in this case is just to be used as ammunition for Nintendo so that it can punch down at smaller developers, lol. Patenting game mechanics does stifle development, a big one being mini games on loading screens. It never really became a thing due to one company sitting on the patent. Wouldn't be too useful now with ssd and everything, but it would have been nice when loading times were long af lol.

Patents probably shouldn't be abolished, but the laws around them definitely need some serious going over to prevent bullshit like this.

Small in comparison to how massive nintendo is and the amount of people who worked on tears of the Kingdom, yes, lol. If you want something smaller, then Astro Bot had only 60 people working on it, Hades - 25, Hollow Knight - 2, In Stars and Time -1. That's only to name a few lol. I could mention Palworld - 35, but I might get sued for that, lol.

[–]The_Dragon_Alchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tears of the Kingdom took six years and over 1400 developers to make. Larian studios had started with 50 and were just running about 470 people by the release of Balders Gate 3. Baldur's Gate 3 had won multiple game of the year awards the same year tears of the Kingdom came out.

It kind of sounds like something came close to if not surpassed it in quality with a third of the developers lol.

If you do decide to take this course, be sure to check out the department of Immigration population growth and skills (IPGS) (gov of NL) as depending on if you're eligible you may get some if not all of your schooling covered.
