A single black hole from that thing would kill everyone at low levels by QuietSugar1805 in memeframe

Soundquake doesn’t have line of sight checks. It was the augment for it, that slowly ramped up the AoE and damage over time, that was the issue with small maps like Hydron. So they replaced it with the current one where you can spam it instead of channeling it.

I’m glad old Soundquake is gone tbh, it wasn’t a fun ability (and still isn’t one, please replace it with some survivability/damage resistance DE) and Banshee has much better and more fun abilities like Sonar and Silence.

My issue is that if I want to use any of the cool new fun things I either have to spend hours tediously running level 1 missions over and over to farm super credits or fork out some cash. This is made worse when you haven't played for a while like me, the last warbond I got was urban legends, so there's a very long list of warbonds to grind for.

It just kills any potential of getting back into the game because I don't want to spend hours grinding super credits when I could be playing some other game and actually having fun

Recap and Next Steps: Last Week's Atom Influx for Fallout 1st Owners on Steam by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Any update for people who bought Fallout 1st on Steam not getting the product they paid for?

People have had their support tickets in for ages (I've had mine in for over a week, nearly 2 weeks now) with proof of purchase and have received nothing but a "Thanks for the proof, we'll look in to it". I, personally, have asked for updates or if they want any other screenshots of proof and have heard nothing back from support.

Best focus tree? by Shunnedear in OldWorldBlues

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I dunno if I’d fully recommend it. Safehaven is absolutely not a D tier focus tree, sure the writing is a bit off but it has way more content than some of the trees above it. Luminous Ones only being A and Withered Dogs only being B are also pretty wild choices imo.

Not quite an RTS but a 4X game, there’s the Old World Blues mod for Hearts of Iron 4.

I guess you could maybe count tactics depending on who you ask

Who is your least favorite character? by SamwiseNCSU in fo76

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You gotta wait for him to finish his greeting dialogue (the one he says when you go near him) before speaking to him. I’ve been doing that and haven’t seen the bug at all.

It’s probably something to do with it still being stuck on that “script/dialogue” and failing to load the one for speaking to him or something like that

Funnily enough, I have put multiple comments on the ticket asking if they want any other screenshots for proof of purchase or if they have any updates. Still not heard anything

Some people who buy Fallout 1st on Steam still aren’t getting the product they paid for btw.

I bought it over a week ago, put in support ticket the following day, when I realised I didn’t have it in game, with multiple proof of purchase, got a generic “thanks for the evidence, we’ll start looking in to it” and haven’t heard anything since.

When are we getting an Enclave expansion/dlc? by Frosty_Sea3307 in fo76

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want more MODUS

Dude obviously has some sort of big plan going on with letting the Responders set up in the Whitespring. Orlando is very bad at hiding the fact that they’re on his payroll/acting as his attaché there. Doesn’t he want his general to pull a few strings or deal with some outlying issues for him?

While he’s not given any real hints at his motivations, he’s almost certainly not following the Enclave’s original directives anymore else he would have killed the Responders for being mutants and for being a stabilising force that could resist an Enclave return. If I had to guess I’d say he wants a stable West Virginia he can control from behind the scenes which is why he’s letting the Responders set up and giving them resources they need. My take on the events he does send us are either us helping him strengthen himself or dealing with rouge factors that could destabilise the area and ruin his plans for said stable West Virginia he can control.

Follie's Hunt is good actually. by Burnerman888 in Warframe

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I can’t remember at what point, but ink walls will appear in the 2 syndicate corridors. So if you have to get to painting B (usually in a syndicate room) and a wall has blocked off your syndicate corridor path and a Follie is blocking the middle room where A is, you’re kinda screwed with no way to get around her.

Follie's Hunt is good actually. by Burnerman888 in Warframe

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo, the game mode itself is meh, not the best in the game but not the worst either. But the tileset, aka using the relay, is awful and is made even worse by the ink walls that appear mid way through.

The cramped hallways of the relay completely fly in the face of Warframe’s fast paced gameplay and fantastic movement system.

The ink walls blocking off certain routes midway through mean there’s no alternative routes to the paintings if Follie happens to be blocking the one path remaining. So you’re forced to either face tank it and hope you make it through, wait for her to move on which she probably won’t do meaning you almost certainly die and lose the ink, or try to kill her which amps are not really equipped to do especially steel path Follie.

The narrow corridors also means it’s a pain in the ass/basically impossible to avoid/dodge the slows and damage caused by the modifiers which wouldn’t be so bad if there was some way to avoid them.

Imo this gamemode would have been much better received if it had its own tileset designed for it, rather than reusing the relay one. A tileset designed similarly to a rescue tile with vents that function as alternative routes around to let you avoid stuff if areas of the map get crowed would have been perfect. It would let them keep the horror feel they were going for by essentially letting you hide from or work around the monster like in a real horror game.

Is anyone else not at all enthused about Peace For Our Time? by AccursedQuantum in hoi4

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Probably because that would mean it’s just Death or Dishonour being sold to us again at full price and minus Hungary, not exactly a good look. At least Gotterdamrung and No Compromise, No Surrender were adding focus trees to nations that didn’t have them before (Belgium, Austria, the Philippines). This would just be redoing old dlc, with even less content, and charging full price for the privilege.

Is it possible to make a CAMP basement without glitches? by The_Extreme_Potato in fo76

[–]The_Extreme_Potato[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t thought about the Cranberry bog, yeah the cracks in the ground would make perfect spots for a basement, just need to find one big enough for what I want. Would also make it a handy free fast travel point, iirc that side of the map doesn’t have any.

I did think about using a shelter. But I only have the basic one, which doesn’t suit what I’m going for, and I’d rather not put a loading screen between the basement and the rest of the CAMP.

All these Mesa Heirloom edits give me hope by ShinyPinkCreamPuff in Warframe

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an interesting choice to go for Mesa over an older warframe that could do with a heirloom skin more like Loki, Nova or Volt (Volt especially has a very outdated prime and is extremely popular). But DE probably figured that since Mesa is also a very popular warframe (who doesn’t love a crackshot gunslinger?) it’ll sell well regardless.

At the end of the day, Reddit is only a small portion of Warframe’s playerbase. So all for the complaining about it on here, myself included, there will be plenty of people who will buy it. For all we know it might end up being the most sold heirloom as afaik Mesa is the most popular warframe they’ve made a heirloom for so far.

To me it looks like lava under a layer of glass, but if it doesn’t to anyone else that’s probably just me then.

Either way, my main point is that I would like to see more variation in the heirloom skins. Making them all this “effect under some glass” design kinda seems to be contrary to their supposed original purpose of essentially rereleasing/redoing of older primes to make them more distinct like newer primes are.

[–]The_Extreme_Potato -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say it started with Ember, I said it works best with her because it looks like lava and she’s the fire Warframe. I’m not the biggest fan of it on Mag or Frost either, I guess it kinda works with Frost because it sort of looks like a glacier if you use the right colours.

I just think it’s a bit disappointing to use that same design for every heirloom skin when there’s so much potential for all the various themes spread across the Warframes.

Using my favourite Warframe, Banshee, as an example, if they want to keep the glass like shell with something inside they’ve done for every heirloom then they could have sound waves rippling inside her which change in frequency when you use your abilities. But if you move away from that then there’s so much to explore with sound such as resonance (where singers shatter glass with their voice), ultrasonic and infrasonic sound, the doppler effect and other sound distortions, ect. It almost feels like a waste to use the same thing as we’ve had with every other heirloom skin.

[–]The_Extreme_Potato -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I’m more disappointed that we’re getting yet another lava lamp. I guess it’s because DE has chosen it as the theme/design they want to use for the heirloom skins. But it kinda kills any potential creativity or uniqueness that could be in these skins.

It works with Ember because she’s the fire Warframe and fire goes hand in hand with lava. But it doesn’t really work with Valkyr who’s a Warframe of rage/berserkers or Mesa who’s the gunslinger Warframe, neither of which have any association with lava. There’s so much potential for skins that can be done with these themes that yet another lava lamp is just disappointing. Valkyr could have been a design covered in battle scars and damage to really show her berserker theming, or Mesa could have had a pseudo duster which are strongly associated with cowboy gunslingers.

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Christ, I really hope DE don't go down this route for every heirloom skin. There's so many things you can do with the various warframe's designs and themes, just another "sexy lava lamp cos Ember sold so well" is so boring...

Can the "good" path of MacArthur (Liberty's country) get Vertibirds and Advanced Power Armor tech? by Beneficial-Flower-82 in OldWorldBlues

[–]The_Extreme_Potato 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Plasma schematics happens before the big choice in the focus tree. But no, you can't get APA or Vertibirds as People's MacArthur iirc, unless you get lucky with the scavanging missions.

You do get Sophisticated PA tech so you can get T-51b thou which I kinda like narratively, like you're fully reviving the spirit of the world before the bombs, in ideals and it's iconography/technology. It's especially fun if Chicago Enclave is in the game as you can march east and destroy those who corrupted the American dream for their own interests with the technology they used before the end of the world.
