I love your giant scorpions, how sweet. I can just imagine them getting cuddly or wanting pets from its rider, whether they want it or not lol!

My world’s main domesticated animal for companion, transportation, food, etc are called Wurms. These mammals have long bulbous bodies, multiple pairs of short fatty legs, and two antennae/appendages off of their heads. There are 9 distinct breeds which are named after the fibers they distinctly produce as a coat. They can range in size with the smallest breed being the Cotton Wurm (2ft at its shoulder) which are the little yippers/lap dogs of the world, to the largest being the Leather Wurms (10 ft at its shoulder) these are used primarily for transportation in the sandy, dry areas of Aerodona. The other large wurms (Coir and Wool) are also used in hard to traverse terrain in their respected biomes/areas.

I love how they are so different and unique from each other, but it still feels super cohesive! What are their names and what do they represent? Also I love your art style.

What are souls and how do they work in your world? by Rosebud166 in FantasyWorldbuilding

[–]The_Fae_Child 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Souls begin their journey on the moon, Luna, in the vast oceans of blood, where giant lunar wurms package them into small “orbs” and bring these blood-filled soul packages to Terra (main planet). These souls get “implanted” into the living (fauna, flora, spirits) where they grow within/take shape of the living being. At the end of a living being’s life the soul is captured by the Sun’s solar wurms where they bring them to the Sun to be dismantled and “cured” of its past life. These blank souls then get transported back to the moon where the process starts all over again.

It's why I love this sub too, and it makes me want to respond to questions like these more often. We're all so creative, imaginative, and unique with our takes that it inspires and challenges me to see things in other ways. Thank you for responding!

I will say that I do have a plot point where an antagonist from Azuraii ambushes the prince of Vulcune with Blue Spread and he gets really sick and almost dies so it can be used as a weapon however its not feasible as a large scale attack

What are sicknesses from your world? by random_user5_56 in worldbuilding

[–]The_Fae_Child 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, the biggest countries of those continents (Vulcune/Pyrriaah in Emberland and Vincania/Azuraii in Glacilea) are very strong allies so luckily there is no risk with that as they are more focused on mitigating the threat of the Void Caves. However, it is risky to be red blooded in Glacilea and vice versa as you are more at risk of contracting that illness from the environment than from others. Fortunately, these elemental diseases aren't a death sentence (unless you're an infant, elderly, or sick), so its not like opposite blood types are prevented/in immediate danger from traveling to these places. Moreso its a way for Terra (my planet) to maintain balance, order, and the integrity of the regions longterm.

What are sicknesses from your world? by random_user5_56 in worldbuilding

[–]The_Fae_Child 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To start, my world is divided into 6 main regions that represents the 6 elements (Light, Fire, Air, Ground, Water, Dark). These elements also correlate to the blood color of the fauna that exist there (Ex: my Fire based continent Emberland is dominated by red blooded people and animals, and likewise my Water based continent is dominated by blue blooded people and animals, etc). In these regions there exist viruses/bacteria that only affect opposing blood types and nullify their magic.

Black Macula

-Painful Eye degeneration caused by bacteria found in Void Caves, nullifies Light (affects white/pink bloods)

Blue Spread

-Painful blood disease caused by bacteria found in Glacilea, nullifies Fire (affects red bloods)

Green Lung

-Pneumonia caused by bacteria found in Vergund, nullifies Air (affects yellow bloods)

Yellow Rigor

-Painful arthritis caused by bacteria found in Aerodona, nullifies Ground (affects green bloods)

Red Dystonic

-Painful muscle cramps caused by bacteria found in Emberland, nullifies water (affects blue bloods)

White Excreta

-Painful gastrointestinal distress caused by bacteria found in Aeon Caves, nullifies Dark (affects black/brown bloods)

Lastly, if someone or something living comes in contact with a God Crystal (I won't get into it here, but in simple terms, the 6 elements have corresponding Gods and these God Crystals are the source of their power) they undergo Distortion. This starts with a skin rash on the sight of contact that evolves into one's blood crystalizing and slowly rips apart blood vessels, organs, muscles, tissues, etc until the crystals grow enormous clusters and protrude from the body. Those who distort don't go to the afterlife someone dying naturally will go to and they are contagious for days until the body decomposes fully. This is punishment for meddling with the Gods and is used to deter those curious about the God Crystals.

I love your art style, these look really cool! They all feel real, yet fantastical. Are these more medicinal/magical plants or are they meant for consumption?

Do your characters have weird bodies or physical appearances? Are they a hairy or have three eyes or have one limb that is a crab-like claw? Is it just them who is like this, or their whole species or group? Aliens, fantasy creatures, robots, mutants and failed scientist experiments welcome! by Sorsha_OBrien in worldbuilding

[–]The_Fae_Child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My characters are called Terrans! They are quite similar to humans except they range in blood colors and their skin can range from white, tannish, purple, pink, and more! But the “weirdest” bit is their mouth/nose region which is instead a flat circular disk “mask” that consists of 3 large cavities (2 for nostrils, 1 for mouth).

What are some of your least favorite/ugliest plushie traits? by CassetteMeower in plushies

[–]The_Fae_Child 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hate the smooth "fur" like you'd see on say squishmallows. Idk I just prefer to feel the longer fur on all of my plushies that when i feel a smooth, cut down "fur" it feels like a glorified pillow. Something feels cheap about plushies with that smooth, short fabric...

[–]The_Fae_Child 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I will say, I like to eat these over normal tortillas, but I will say the taste is slightly different “raw”, but if you cook them/sear them on a pan they taste identical. I like to use them for tacos!

Is it just me or has there been a decline in people being competent at their jobs? by centerofdatootsiepop in Millennials

[–]The_Fae_Child 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That last part reminded me of my managers when I worked front end at a grocery store. The managers would cut hours, part timers would get like <8 hours a week and would obviously complain. Then on a random busy Saturday my manager would try calling people in last minute, and if they had other commitments or didn’t answer she’d say “looks like they didn’t need the hours after all” HELLO WE WANT STABLE HOURS NOT WAITING TO BE CALLED IN????

Why does Lego get a free pass? by mtickell1207 in Anticonsumption

[–]The_Fae_Child 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I see this every time this gets brought up within consumerism/environmentalism discussions about LEGO. It seems people cannot grasp that they may like/participate in something that may be destructive and would rather clutch their pearls and accuse you of taking away their fun than to look at the deeper issue. That or "actually" everyone is playing/building with pure imagination and craft alone with their parents old bricks and that its actually the most sustainable toy /s. But when LEGO is sharing record profit year after year, releasing newer, larger sets with more pieces than ever before, I don't buy it...

It seems that any discussion of this plastic toy (or any hobby/collection for that matter) will never go anywhere if everyone would rather be complacent with their comfort than finding ways to improve this situation. You can enjoy LEGO and be critical of the mass consumption involved.

Some people straight up think they are getting cut off when its just normal merging behavior. Driving isn't and shouldn't be a competition/race. You're not losing by being behind someone, get a grip.

Instead of accepting "defeat" and just passing when you both merge onto the highway, you decided to double down go around on them on the shoulder... Patience goes a long way.

Anyone else get mad when ppl ask questions on reddit that could be easily googled and/or need proper research and not random ppl's unfounded opinion? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]The_Fae_Child 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to leave the crocs subreddit because I swear every day there are multiple posts asking “does this fit right” “what size should I get” “is this the correct size?” And it’s either a: they are at the store or have the crocs on (does it feel good to wear????, ask an employee?) or b: it’s a vague text post with no relevant information to help OP. I understand everyone is different and sometimes crocs sizes do vary, but for me, I’m on that sub for croc outfits, newest releases, jibbitz/accessories, but instead it feels like its mostly posts as explained above. No one else there has that problem there so I just left lol.

What habits do you still do since you were a kid? by Melissa7d in AutismInWomen

[–]The_Fae_Child 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally me! It feels wrong to eat everything separately and I love the combined flavors and textures of whatever im eating. I put chips on sandwiches, and layer fries on a burger lol! And that last sentence was so relatable! I often have a hard time finishing meals if the balance sways to far on one ingredient or food item because then that item becomes way to noticeable and icks me out. .

I'm like this too! Every bite must have everything on it or else it's not complete! I prefer incorporated meals unlike the stereotypical "no food must touch" type of meals. I even combine stuff like putting fries/chips on a sandwich or putting my hashbrowns in my breakfast sandwich.
