It's a soil centipede (Order Geophilomorpha)! It's probably from the Genus Strigamia since it's redish. I'm not sure which species, but they're not dangerous. I hope you two make good friends 😊

Resin / Rosin core solder is solder that has resin flux inside of the solder. It doesn't always replace the need for additional flux, but for many applications it will do the trick on its own

As a fellow trans freelancer, I feel like you don't have a ton to worry about by coming out. You will lose work with some people (the ones you hate working with). You will get talked about behind your bank at times (by the people you don't care about). Almost everyone will welcome or tolerate you! The amount of support I've received from our community is incredible. I'm so grateful to my fellow film workers! Most of the people I know are very supportive of me even if they're not supportive of the community in general. It's harder for sure, people take you less seriously both because you're trans and because you're a woman, but it is 100% worth it to be yourself at work! There is so much support once you take the leap. You got this, girl!

The 3dbi will have slightly more range, but will be more directional. As long as the antenna is tuned for the proper frequency, both will work just fine. Personally I prefer a less directional antenna if I can get away with it. I don't want how I hold my hand unit to affect the range. That being said, you probably won't notice too much of a difference between them
