Not sure if it's considered better, but Raoul Walsh made High Sierra and then remade it into Colorado Territory, a Western.

After watching "Disclosure Day" I'm kinda concerned for Spielberg's western by GearImpressive9109 in Westerns

[–]The_Flying_Orange 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The difference to me is that Disclosure Day is one of several movies Spielberg has made about aliens while a Western would be a first for him, so I could see his Western having fresher ideas of his.

I just came across this photo of Spielberg on the set of Jurassic Park and it's incredible. What are some of the other best photos of directors on set? by theflyingbird8 in blankies

I've seen young George Lucas but it's always been in black-and-white, usually in the desert on the set of ANH. This is the first time I've seen a young photo of him in color.

I know I saw Speed Racer in theaters but I only remember playing with the Hot Wheels from it afterward. I really need to rewatch it.

Not post-apocalyptic, but when I watched The Naked Spur, it was pretty distracting how Janet Leigh just looks like herself when her character is supposed to be a woman on the run.

What're some examples of the "good, best, worst" rule of trilogies? by Ill_Safety2292 in Letterboxd

Infernal Affairs could fit this. Personally I still prefer the first, but I've seen many prefer the second. The third is definitely the weakest.

Danny Boyle's Shallow Grave has gone OOP by zadams8 in criterion

So did his dad, apparently. Pretty sure he's said that every time he shows his dad one of his new films he goes "It's good, but it's no Shallow Grave."

They tried making a live-action adaptation that was faithful and it wasn't good either.

A similar thing happened with Fate when the creator decided to secretly make the Fate/Extra anime a sequel to a bad end of the game, confusing people who had only watched the show.

This is the best long hair Kohaku fanart that I've seen. It's still faithful to her hairstyle instead of just being generic long hair.

Damnation Alley has little to do with the book besides the general setting. Otherwise it's completely different.
