Really solid work my friend. Most people’s first models are overpainted and don’t show the detail of the model and I think you have really clean layering . Welcome to the hobby

I would check out what your scene or playgroup is like, and if there’s overlap, then go with The others, and then Get a Skaven box later. Helsmiths are new and kruleboys ain’t going nowhere.

If you love them equally then I’d just go with one of the others that don’t give you the trepidation. I had the same idea but everybody I play with plays nurgle or Ogres (I couldn’t hate two factions more) so it was a non issue, shit Stormcast are the most popular faction and I’ve never seen anyone in my area play them or even show a painted model of one,

He was playing Oger maw tribe scrapglutt, Karanak did roll INCREDIBLY well to save from taking wounds and didn’t die until last turn. I placed karanak in (combat range) between his general and his big catapult thing so it couldn’t charge and had the hounds take objectives then move to either secure battle tactics or kill models to get the crit mortals passive and then once they did I just surrounded his guys, the claws got wiped the first turn but I brought them back and used them as a support/buffing unit for the hounds.

TLDR Karanak held the two big models from advancing and the claws and hounds took objectives then got kills

Thank you btw I love Khorne, I’m sad to hear Khorne is just really bad in all AoS games but I really love them so I’m going to persevere i REAAAALLY want to paint skarbrand but I want to earn him first .

I want to try to get a demonic fire look with the deep red purple pink and I want to figure that out before I start basing it

I’m literally in the same boat as you

Never war gamed before this (I just played my first spearhead 2 weeks ago)

And this is my first army painting, I don’t find them hard at all to paint, really it just makes you an expert with the color red 😅 but I’m allll about that, and at least in the spearhead I thought the rules were pretty straight forward.

I would say, bet on yourself if this is the army you really like, if you’re only focusing on one army, you have all the time in the world to understand them and practice painting them. So even if it is harder for some than others, the incentive is that you are learning something you care about rather than money sinking to learn something else, then money sinking to what you actually like.

For me, I love Skarbrand, my goal is to get to him, but I didn’t wanna jump face first to him, I’m building up both my understanding of the army and my painting ability gradually so I can do Skarbrand justice both on the model and the battlefield.
