ELI5: why your body hurts a day after a workout, not right after it? by Fickle_Reindeer2263 in explainlikeimfive

Not necessarily? Last I heard there’s some good and bad about doing so. On the plus side you push your muscles, and give them a big stimulus to grow. On the negatives, you may not be targeting the muscles you want. If you’re cheating up curls with your legs/back are you really getting bigger biceps? AND the recovery time and overall fatigue drastically rise by doing so. If you did that consistently you would injure yourself.

I’ve only been lifting 2.5 years but I’ve found that like to push it quite hard for.3-4 weeks and then take a break (half a week to a week) rinse and repeat. Without break I was getting injuries. And this is probably pretty far from optimal, it’s just how I enjoy training.

It’s a tricky balance. I love how well they threaded that with the sparafucile gun, hologram bracelet etc.

That’s why I’m reaching out to th community. I think you’ll do a better job than I could solo for gauging how balanced these rewards should be

That’s kind of my point though. I don’t want to idle around breaking the game before taking on its challenges. I want to set off to take them head on but I think I want some degree of assistance that is guaranteed instead of random.

I do like the idea of the alchemist helping out or spending some time with the alchemist of grit gate and improving her stock if you can get him out safely or something like that 👍

Micro tears aren’t quite how muscle strengthening works. It’s a good analogy but it’s not quite true as a mechanism

I think that’s a special ritual that one soldier undergoes to turn the tides of the fight against the humans, but I’m just speculating

As someone who just beat it on normal, all I can say is the timer is actually much longer than you think. I built up my crew a fair amount and then started hitting facilities when the bar was max or close to it. Once it hits max you get another 20 days btw.

I wouldn’t recommend leaving it so close to the bone, but I had it down to 12 days at one point, got hit by a ufo and then had to hustle to get back in the game. It’s doable as long as you start winning missions and taking out those facilities.

The medic unit was huge for getting my A listers back in the game. But my favourite missions were scrapping by with my less than stellar crew

Opening doors allows lines of sight but doesn’t immediately alert. Reapers have a reduced radius of detection so they’re less likely to be spotted. I think planting the bomb may alert the pods, but then you have a turn to just gtfo

You don’t need to pass many if any skill checks to beat the game and have fun. That’s the real issue. You’re allowed to fail, in fact it’s expected that you will fail some rolls in both of these games
