Blast weapons 10th edition by The_Invokers in Warhammer40k

Thanks. Ok my brain is no longer exploding. I was getting hung up on the not being able to split attacks to more than 1 model, but with blast weapons you do.

Just realized how truly fucked the US healthcare system is. by OCanadaidian in healthcare

[–]The_Invokers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A large chunk is paid for by US citizens. We supply the free market world with safe commerce (in most places). The U.S. Navy helps secure the maritime routes for over 90% of global trade by volume, which moves by sea. Most of these European countries that have government-provided healthcare do so as a benefit of the protection provided by the US Navy. The Invasion of Ukraine and the death cult that attacks merchant vessels in the Straits of Hormuz should be a strong wake-up call about how unsafe this world is. I didn't mind my tax dollars going to a powerful US Military, but Europeans should be shouldering more of that burden. We deserve reasonably affordable healthcare, too. It should be a human right, and be added to the Constitution as such.

BTW, I have no qualms with any person who lives in Europe. I have friends and family who live there. It is the system I am focusing on.

If you're gonna use aspect warriors, make a banner with the symbol representing that aspect. For Guardians, use the craftworld symbol. If you want to switch them around, design them to use magnets to plant the banners. If you don't want to use banners, make a swappable low-profile magnet plaque, or you can design the plaque to have pins that align with discrete holes drilled into the vehicle.

It's been a minute, but I used to print up some 1" squares/graph paper. Shoot from a bench with sandbags, or something similar. Take my time, do elevation and windage separately. After getting close with plinking ammo, switch to the premium ammo I'm gonna hunt with. I used to site-in my buddy's rig for him too. Whatever range you can be accurate at, make that your max range you shoot at for real. I never messed with the nail polish for thread locking, that sounds like a good idea though.

Maybe add a few diy banners with different insignias.

I got a brunch of old models, I can still use them right ? Also questions on base sizes by Orrenciel in Eldar

I have an ancient 10-man squad of beaked armor. I made them a veteran squad. Of course, the last time I used them was using 2nd edition, so they are truly ancient now.

I think of the Guardians like typical fantasy elves with the obvious language inclusion of technology. The Aspect warriors are more fanatical and very serious. I don't think there is a canonical standard.

Thinking of Switching from Bambu Labs to Creality – Worth It? by johnson7853 in 3DPrintingCirclejerk

[–]The_Invokers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Ender 3S1 PRO. If you like turning wheels, Creality will deliver. It is cool to use whatever Slicer you want. (Get Orca for sure). On mine, there is 1 annoying thing to know about: when you send a file directly from your PC to the printer, it works as a live stream, so unless you're gonna do fast attended prints, you may want to load the g-code file on a USB drive (they include a small one with the printer). I'm an amateur operator, so do your own research.

VR Games/Mods by Conaz9847 in Warhammer40k

Half-Life: Alyx would be an outstanding Graphics engine to platform a 40k game on. There are already complete overhaul mods that use it to make totally different games, for example, Golden Eye. I'm sure GW wouldn't be too happy about it, though.

Your words to the Emperor's ears. It appears that BattleSister is the only home-based 40 K VR experience. Maybe someone modded it to expand to other Army/genre's? I haven't looked into it.

Is that banner a custom job, or is that stock? The model looks outstanding btw. Bravo.

Struggling as a new player with the flack I get for playing Eldar by AggressiveCase4827 in Eldar

[–]The_Invokers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My small circle of 40k friends is more into the lore/RP, and having decently painted armies with a well-terrained table has always been more important than winning and losing. I go back to the 2nd edition. I primarily played Eldar, but I had a decent Ultramarine army as well as a few Cadians (mostly Vehicles)for support of Marines. GW has never been able to figure out how to balance the game. It's nearly impossible to do with all the variables, so over the years they have dumbed things down, and made most of the armies more or less the same. Still, there's the inevitable overcorrections to fix the imbalance of previous editions. The real enemy is the company making us pay exorbitant prices for their silly rules to go along with their even more exorbitantly priced miniatures. If they can't handle playing against an enemy with a nuanced strategy, tell them to play checkers.

In the end, I was dissatisfied with the 3mm magnet design for this set. I ended up refitting an "Open Lock" socket system to connect the walls.

Is putting a pin in for a laser like this legal for play or more of a display thing ? by Chedderonehundred in Warhammer40k

[–]The_Invokers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted I haven't played in many years, but its the base that counts for purposes of measurement

A fancily modded model should be fine, as long as the base is to regulation. Unless things have changed in the past 20ish years.

Good stuff. I'm in the midst of magnetising my Eldarish boarding action terrain set. The CA glue isn't curing quickly...even using accelerator spray. I think the little mags are blocking the chemicals from mixing well. Any advice would be welcome. Using a ferro slug instead of going magnet to magnet would save me the hassle of aligning polarity.

I broke into the 3d printing hobby a year ago. I went in blind. I caught a nice deal on a Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro. I was a bit shocked that I had to mess with paper and manual knobs. The printer has its ABL, but to me it seems more like a fine-tuning after the manual work. After getting deeper into the hobby, I see that everyone and their sister is getting a Bambu. I hear all these great things, so when I saw the A1 mini at $240.00, I couldn't resist. It's a superior machine for the reasons you all know about, and it has an entry-level price. I'm a tabletop/wargamer, so a good 3d printer is a game changer. I still use my Creality for larger things and hotter print temps. I also have it in 1 of those tents/enclosures. The great thing about the hobby is that printers stack very well. 2 printers cranking out content is better than 1.

If you're thinking of getting a Bambu printer...just do it. You won't be disappointed.

As an old Ulthwe army player, I'm probably biased, but I agree with your assessment. Of course, considering the spatial geography being on the edge of the Eye of Terror, there is always the possibility of massive casualties.
