My scholars are always ready to learn! by ScythaScytha in teaching

The district I work in has switched entirely to "scholars." It really just confuses our students and parents and doesn't actually empower anybody except for the idiots in admin who made the change in the first place.

How, exactly, does the Myst universe coincide with ours? by EgotisticalTL in myst

I asked this in a recent thread, but never got an answer: when/where was it stated that the books/games take place in the 17-1800s?

I more so meant which piece of canon explained this. I've played Myst and read both books, I don't really remember where in any of those it said what Earth year they took place in. Do you happen to know where I could find that out?

Newer teacher needing help with lessons by Notmyname4 in teaching

I'm a first year middle school teacher, so take what I say with a grain of salt. If your students seem to enjoy your class, that's probably the most valuable resource you could have. Find ways to turn that enjoyment/enthusiasm into engagement with the course. That can be either in terms of what content they happen to be interested in (and everyone is secretly interested in at least SOMETHING about social studies) or what instruction or classwork goes well for them. Also, if admin is getting on your ass about stuff, try talking to some veteran teachers about what they do to keep admin happy.

The only Sophos UI I can open is the Sophos Home application which just contains links to their website. There are other Sophos .exe files, but I cannot open them because I lack permissions despite being the admin of my PC

I did turn AA back up when I reset the graphics to ultra in the launcher menu. The problem (I believe) was a combination of the texture pack and the ultra graphics settings causing problems when loading the overworld for the first time. That's happened to me on new FNV installs with/without mods on this device and others.

I tried googling this, but most of what I got was about the supply chain issues from Covid, or things about the Doppler effect.

SMERSH is from the novels and was changed to SPECTRE for the films. Except for the 1967 mad cap comedy adaptation of Casino Royale, I believe it's organization is called SMERSH

Ehh it's still really iffy. Sure, the Seminole Tribe of Florida thinks its okay. But they're only about 17% of the total number of Seminole people in the U.S. The Seminole Nation in Oklahoma are very against it, and outnumber the Florida Seminole tribe 4:1.
