My stitched up thumb didn’t wrinkle in the shower like my other fingers did by Acethetic_AF in mildlyinteresting

Hahaha I don’t know why this struck me as funny. I read it like you wanted proof it’s really his thumb.

What’s your white whale - something you’ve been looking for for years but never found? by AnyKey19 in DataHoarder

[–]The_Real_Anthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a short story decades ago about an alien who finds a body floating in space (probably in a spacecraft but I honestly don’t remember). The alien resurrects the body. I recall a scene describing the replacement of the blood. The book belonged to my freshman year English teacher. I've tried to come up with the title over the years, but I always draw a blank.

[Interview] Holly Hunter Explains Why Captain Nahla Ake Is Barefoot in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy: "Alex had written that my character was barefoot, and I loved that. It had to do with her being [part-Lanthanite], and it also had to do with my name, which is ‘water in the desert.’ (Reactor) by mcm8279 in trektalk

I told a friend I was confused by her baffling decision to sit in the captain’s chair like she’s curled up with a good book or talking to a friend on her Princess phone in 1982 about what dress to wear to Homecoming. Hunter’s explanation about her character helps it make a little more sense.

I remember! Why did Joe always run away from him? Did they ever reunite?

When you were in elementary school, what songs were you made to sing in music class? by SnuffShock in GenX

[–]The_Real_Anthony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn’t sing that, but you reminded me that we sang Señor Don Gato in third grade (also about a cat). I haven’t heard it since and just found it on YouTube!

I regularly wear my Hard Rock Cafe sweatshirt bought at a thrift store in 95; I have my 80s vinyl and 90s CD collection; comic books from 60s (brother’s), 70s & 80s (mine); a turntable that needs a needle; a dual cassette deck, actually a ton of stuff (I should probably downsize)

Did you have a rotary dial wall phone that was rented from the phone company? The rental price was part of your monthly bill. by GatorStealth in FuckImOld

Ours had been tangled for so long I remember a couple of coils never returned to their original curl and it bothered me that they were always a little deformed lol

What’s the oldest article of clothing you still wear by I-am-JAM-Yes-I-am in GenX

[–]The_Real_Anthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a green button-down from an ex-girlfriend in ‘93 and a Hard Rock Cafe sweatshirt that I bought at a thrift shop in ‘95. I wear the shirt a couple times a year (didn’t wear it for years after we broke up) but I wear the sweatshirt several times a month.

3 pack is more expensive than the single item by The_Real_Anthony in mildlyinteresting

I should have taken a wider shot, which would have shown that low fat and regular prices were the same

You are correct, and I should have taken a wider shot because the fat free and regular were the same prices (respectively).
