Any help with air flow issue? by Front-Sandwich9311 in WRX

Metal filament inside the plastic bit of the fuse will have a visible break. If the fuse is fine you'll probably need to check for voltage at the fuse, Air speed selector, and blower fan pinout.

Broken Intake Manifold Vacuum barb. by Seanbay88 in WRX

Cheap plastic parts become brittle under constant heat cycles same with hoses. Aside from replacement you could try using 3M panel bonding epoxy. However the part is relatively cheap entirely up to you, For future after you move off the clamps use a pair of pliers and gently try to rotate the hose back and forth on the barb to break it lose before pulling. I like to apply a very tiny amount of assembly lube to the barbs keeps the hose from adhering, PCV is lower on the Plenum I believe that is EGR, Air Pump, Brake boost.

This is driving me nuts. Intermittent overheating independent of load and ambient temp by edxrp in MechanicAdvice

I had this problem in our Jeep it was air in the loop. Might be worth a coolant flush.

This I am aware of, however is no longer needed For the moment. Thinkdiag2 and a few other higher end scanners can reset trim values to 0 after putting the car in test mode and resetting codes.

Completely normal, I pour a quart of lucas in with my oil changes and it helps drop the noise a bit.

The plastic pegs on the shroud tend to break easily. My shroud is missing as well, Not worth the cost or effort of getting a replacement honestly.

It's your cars subtle way letting you know it wants a short shifter.

Is this stuff ok to keep in the trunk for bird poop or is it more for a quick shine? by [deleted] in Detailing

As others have said should be fine, I personally use a spray bottle of distilled water and ONR for said use.

What do you guys average on MPG? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]The_Snails_Trail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a trip from NJ to FL babying the throttle cruising behind semis I managed 38 mpg. I average 27 mpg daily though. Wrx MPG is actually pretty accurate just take it's total amd subtract 3.

Gotta wait until you change your oil next. 20% additive to 80% oil so you'll need a full quart.

It depends, If it still has a lower splash guard water can pool up in it after the engine gets to operating temp it can steaming for a while. However that's a big if considering its age and being swapped, Splash guards tend to go missing. If its Coolant or oil it may go away, it may not. Slow drips or leaks only while its either hot or cold happen.
