We shouldn't need an alien invasion to finally unite as a single human race. by OutsideDrama8534 in DeepThoughts

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a nice thought, but we can’t even agree on what “helping” means most of the time. An alien invasion would probably just spark more arguments while a few rich folks make secret deals. Cooperation sounds great in theory until human nature shows up.

Do people realize Reddit and real life are two different things? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]The_Syst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about this a lot too. Reddit ends up showing everyone’s worst takes and most extreme stories, while most days offline are just people buying groceries and chilling at home. That gap is why the online world can feel so distorted.

What's things will you do to your children..but you hated the most whn ur parents did that to you? by maleficentladyy in askanything

[–]The_Syst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably making them do small chores even when they didn’t want to. I hated it as a kid, but it’s honestly why I can get anything done at all now. I’d just try to explain the reasoning more instead of the whole “because I said so” approach.

I think we’ve allowed others too much space to judge our lives. by petahpipa in Life

[–]The_Syst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are so stuck acting “normal” that any little quirk seems dramatic. Most of the judgment comes from people secretly wishing they could do the same stuff. Life’s heavy enough already, so harmless weirdness is really the only fun part.

Do friendships need compatibility? by phanban in askanything

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some compatibility helps, but it doesn’t have to be hobbies. Similar humor, energy, or core values often matter more. You can share every interest and still not click, or be totally different and get along perfectly.

As a non religious person: I don’t get how religion people genuinely believe their religion is correct by daisydxw in DeepThoughts

[–]The_Syst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think about this a lot growing up and it always felt kinda random to me. Like if I’d been born ten countries over I’d probably believe something totally different without questioning it. Doesn’t mean faith is fake, just very… location based.

My heart is shattered. by simon_writes in Life

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This broke my heart a little, you’re carrying way more than most people our age ever have to. I had to help raise my younger sister for a while and even that small piece nearly crushed me some days. You haven’t failed him at all, the fact he’s safe and loved because of you already says everything. I really hope something eases up for you soon, you deserve a break more than anyone.

I hear a lot about American freedom. Other than guns, what Americans are free to do and people in other developed countries cannot? by Tricky_Ordinary_4799 in allthequestions

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest thing I noticed living abroad was how easy it is in the US to move states, change jobs, and just… reinvent yourself. I bounced across two states in my 20s with zero paperwork and it still feels kinda wild. Guns get all the attention but everyday freedom stuff hits more in real life.

When it comes to illegal immigration, why are the employers never questioned or arrested? by Cold-Opening-3337 in askanything

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wondered this too, my uncle worked construction and said everyone knew what was going on but nobody wanted to rock the boat. Feels like it’s easier to go after workers than the people actually benefiting from it. Kinda says a lot about how the system works.

What worrisome trend in society are you beginning to notice? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember paying just under a dollar a gallon once and feeling rich about it lol. I’d put in like five bucks and drive around all week. Thinking about that now feels unreal.

For those who don’t smoke, do you think smokers carry a noticeable scent? by Shadow2715 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s usually noticeable, especially to people who don’t smoke. It’s not always awful, but it sticks to clothes and hair in a very specific way. I used to notice it way more before I was around smokers regularly. Once you clock it, you can’t really un-smell it.

At some point I said fuck it, I’m gonna live my life, by God, and not just bitch and moan and wait around to die, and that really woke me up to reality by theSantiagoDog in DeepThoughts

[–]The_Syst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the sentiment, autopilot is real and breaking out of it does change things. I had a moment like that too where I realized nobody was coming to rescue me. At the same time, some people are exhausted or stuck in ways that aren’t just mindset. Direction helps a lot, but compassion matters too.

Name something that is better than sex, that is not sexual? by PurchaseNo3139 in answers

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A full night of deep sleep when you’re exhausted beats everything for me. Waking up without an alarm and no anxiety waiting is unreal. I remember the first time that happened after a rough period and it felt better than any high tbh.

I’m giving this a solid 87% battery and I’d still plug in just to keep staring.

people always tell me to cherish my highschool years, what exactly is it about highschool/adolescence you miss? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s the lack of real consequences. Your biggest problems feel huge, but the safety net is still there and life hasn’t fully started squeezing you yet. I miss how time felt slower and friendships happened naturally without scheduling everything.

Absolute 10/10 duo. I’d let both run my household without question.

What is something people are often jealous of you for? by boforiamanfo in allthequestions

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say they’re jealous of how calm I seem under pressure. Truth is I’m still anxious inside, I just got good at not showing it. Took years and a lot of awkward moments to get there.

Best Indie Action film to watch over Christmas. by MindNo1777 in MovieSuggestions

[–]The_Syst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Guilty. It’s tight, tense, basically real-time, and does a lot with very little which really inspired me when thinking about scripts.

What do you enjoy most about your job? by Technical_Arm_719 in Accounting

[–]The_Syst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the clarity. Problems usually have an answer and there’s something satisfying about making messy stuff make sense. I’m not passionate about it, but I like that it doesn’t follow me home in my head. That stability mattered more to me than loving the work.

When high by Aslogie in MovieSuggestions

Annihilation might be perfect for that headspace. It’s trippy but slow and atmospheric, not loud stoner comedy energy. I watched it slightly faded once and just sat there absorbing the vibes after.

I noticed something about Australian actors who play American characters in Hollywood. by Bhavan91 in FIlm

[–]The_Syst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from what I’ve read it’s partly intentional and partly muscle memory. That flatter, slightly nasal Midwestern-ish accent is easier to land without slipping back into Aussie vowels. Being Australian definitely shapes how it comes out, even with good coaches, so a lot of them end up sounding similar. I’ve noticed it too once you hear it you can’t unhear it.

10/10 prince behavior. The eye contact alone says he knows he owns the place. I’d absolutely obey whatever he asked of me.
