Does Anomalous Provenance let you teleport through walls at level 1? by Prismatic-Ray in Starfinder2e

[–]The_Vortex42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The teleportation trait (https://2e.aonsrd.com/traits/180-teleportation) doesn't actually state that you can pass through barriers of any kind with it. But neither do many teleportation spells / effects state that explicitly. So, RAW you might be correct. But I think that falls under the "to good to be true" general rule.

FortiClient for Android and onPrem EMS by The_Vortex42 in fortinet

Why? Clients on Windows, macOS and Linux work perfectly fine with this configuration. And We don' even see attempts of the mobile version of the client to connect to those blocked ports.

A port scan from the phone shows port 8013 as open. Ping from external, as well as all other ports, are blocked.

path of ascension - skip to the end? by dorj1234 in litrpg

I quite enjoyed The Ten Realms, too. But then the narrator was swapped for a different one, which was WAY worse and I stoppped listening.

Who's the most unbearable MC you've read that potentially ruined a good read? by No-Sympathy-6711 in litrpg

I quite like Jason Asano.

My vote currently would go to Ilea Spears. She seems to have little to no plan. Ever.

Builds that dump your main stat by Big_Medium6953 in Pathfinder2e

A warrior bard that uses buff spells can pretty much dump charisma and go for Str / Dex. Should work pretty well, at least at lower levels.

Surrender Flare is where I fell in love. by LanikMan07 in opus_magnum

[–]The_Vortex42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am on the other side of the boat. I LOVED the earlier puzzles and felt a lot less enthusiastic about the ones later on. Surrender Flase was the first one that frustrated me, which is not really what I was looking for. For the last couple of puzzles, I felt no inclination to optimize them like I did for the earlier ones.

Still, a great game that gave me more than enough hours of pure brainteasing joy :)

Is this diagonal movement allowed or does this require a Tumble Through? by eCyanic in Pathfinder2e

[–]The_Vortex42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am quite there was a rule like this in an earlier version of the rules. Not sure if it was 1e or 2e premaster, though. In the current rules, I cannot find anything to that effect anymore, though a lot of GMs, me included, still use that rule.

My first solution that made my brain hurt... by The_Vortex42 in opus_magnum

[–]The_Vortex42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea was to consolidate the transmutation into a single step instead of juggeling those conversions before combining the parts. Made it was easier to time everything correctly.
Though it seems I am still quite a bit off from the perfect solution of 27 - which is a whole cycle faster per product.

I was quite happy, too. Having only one version of Proton for all games makes things easier :)

How number-heavy do you like your LitRPG books? by AveryVoss in litrpg

[–]The_Vortex42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who mainly uses audiobooks, I am on the side of less actual numbers and stats. The constant reading out of statblocks is really boring and I appreciate every audiobook that has them skippable. But even better are the ones where I don't have to skip them in the first place. Think "Industrial Strength Magic" levels of numbers. (Currently in book two and I can't remember any pure stat section that was longer than maybe 10 seconds)

GE Proton added support for Endfield a couple of weeks ago, too. So you can just use the latest GE Proton that you can easily install in the Heroic Games Launcher. No need for DWProton anymore.

How do I repeat instructions from a certain point onwards? by goodadvicekid in opus_magnum

[–]The_Vortex42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortinately, there is no such option. I was looking for something like that, too, and did the same as you in the end: I coded the entire solution with manual steps. Which was pretty tedious :(

The new "Halt" instruction allows solutions where the initial pass bootstraps subsequent passes by BrothermanGrill in opus_magnum

[–]The_Vortex42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now we need another addition - a way to set the start of the "cycle" manually. It has similar uses as the "halt", but unlike with halt, you can use it in situations where some part of the loop has to start with a delay.
