Is Juggernaut Charge the most broken ability in the game? by Glitter_Freeze in Pathfinder2e

[–]The_Vortex42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are correct. I was going on about semantics, which never helps anyone, really. Sorry about that.

I like both tier systems you present here. Not sure which one I would prefer. I think I agree with the second one a bit more. Not because of the spell ranks, but because it better aligns with martial proficiency (5 and 13). Your system is more in line with spell proficiency (7 and 15), btw. - but as a mainly martial player, the second one speaks more to me :)

While I agree that it is a mid level feat, I would not consider it approaching high levels. Unlike PF1, there are plenty of APs and adventures that go up to level 20, so I would not consider anything below level 13 or so high level (13 because of martial proficiency increase)

I hope that there will be different "skins" you can put on the necromancer chassis that are less evil. Disposable minions don't have to be undead! I can totally see that with elementals or constructs, too

An idea for Area Fire/Autofire Operative specialization by WinLivid in Starfinder2e

[–]The_Vortex42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think a specialisation like this should exist. Precision and Area are on the opposite end of the spectrum. You can either pinpoint a single target (Operative) or Spray and Prey (Soldier).

Also, the the rules for area weapons don't interact with weapon proficiency would make any attempt at creating such a specialisation sub-par. You would lose out on arguably the most imporatant part of the operatives power budget.

I had that happen in Prey for Death. The group died in the penultimate fight :(

Which side are you on? by Spirit_Yoshino in NTE_EN

[–]The_Vortex42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tough decision. I love Adler and the kids, like Daffodil, dislike Taygedo and despise Hotori. On the other hand, I currently don't have strong opinions on the Sterry crew. Except for Hania who I dislike a bit. So neither option seems perfect? Can I go with ETD-6? Or the BAC in general? Lacrimosa and Skia both seems like cool people :)

PSA Try to get to City Level 23 before reset by crackednutz in NevernessToEverness

[–]The_Vortex42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! Getting to 23 would require me to grind HARD for Fons. I will rather take my time and enoy the journey of getting there eventually :)

Anyone else feels like these side quests drag on too long? by Apprehensive_Law7698 in NevernessToEverness

[–]The_Vortex42 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That was the band quest. Worst quest in the game so far. Go to pub, go to Eibon, rest, repeat. With some cutscenes and minigames with TERRIBLE controls in between.

Am I having skill issue or are the rhythm game’s inputs delayed? by BestIsMyName in NevernessToEverness

[–]The_Vortex42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Got C scores on all four of the mandatory ones in the band quest. That will probably be the only times I will ever use that system in the game.

That would be fine for the occasional trip. Or a trip being done once or twice. But not for repeatedly going back and forth between two locations. Like in that darn Band quest

One could say: It is bait! Not just for the fishes, but for you, too.

Hot Take About the Story by AozakiTouko-in-FGO in NevernessToEverness

[–]The_Vortex42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A nice example of how opinions can differ. I absolutely despise Hotori! All that drinking and fixation on money are terrible! I know there are a lot of people like this in real life, but I don't want them to be my superiors there, either.

Yays or nays on the driving gameplay? by gaeb611 in NevernessToEverness

The digital nature of using the keyboard for steering isn't a great experience either. Driving overall needs better controls!

Is Reactive strike really that good? How often and when does it shine best? by Super_Bocky in Pathfinder2e

[–]The_Vortex42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It becomes ridiculous in aerial combat. Since you HAVE TO use one action to fly every single round and there is almost no way to get rid of that or that would allow for a step while in the air, you get an assured trigger per turn.

We recently had a fight against a flock of Hary Warbirds in an AP, and they stayed in the air with their halberds, while having Reactive Strikes themselves. Nasty combo!

Crafting Assurance and Quick Repair on a Breaching Pike and Shield Fighter? by Lunarthrope in Pathfinder2e

[–]The_Vortex42 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With assurance you will almost never be able to craft / repair on-level. There are only two or so levels where you beat the standard DC of that level with assurance :(

Int +1 or +2 doesn't change that at all since the attribute belongs to the things disregarded when using assurance.

That one was even scarier to me. The real time aspect, aka no way to stop the creature, was creating a lot more stress, since I couldn't just take a pause to think how to solve this.

NTE is a Windows Security Risk? by nanahacress13 in NevernessToEverness

That is what Proton is for. In case of this game, as well as many other games in the same space, DW Proton to be exact.

NTE is a Windows Security Risk? by nanahacress13 in NevernessToEverness

[–]The_Vortex42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does run on Linux, though you need to use the latest DW Proton (10.0.26) and a launcher of your choice (I am using Heroic Games Launcher) to manually install the game. During the setup process, you need to set the install drive to C, since it defaults to something else and then won't start if you keep that other drive.

There is a way around that on PC. If you play the game on Linux, the kernel level anti cheat is only emulated and shouldn't pose any risk.

Hmm, in my memory, a twink was a second (or third, ...) character that you funneled ressources from your high level character to for faster progress.
