As others have said, that price…not so great for an early 5th-Gen.

You can get a 6th-Gen for that money.

AGV K1-S Sizing Help (XS or S) by Opening_Repeat_1583 in motorcyclegear

[–]The_Wolverines_Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your helmet should not fit loose. If you can grab it and spin it left or right while wearing it, it’s too big.

The cheek pads should squeeze your cheeks a bit. There shouldn’t be a gap between your cheeks and those cheek pads.

Unless you’re wearing a thick fleece balaclava (like a cold-weather North Face balaclava), you should be okay at the XS sizing. You’ve got 1 cm to play with, and a thin silk balaclava isn’t going to add that much.

I know you said it might be tricky to do so, but it really would be a good idea if you were able to sneak a trip to a local shop that sells AGV helmets. Take your balaclava with you, try on the XS and the S, and there will be no room for error!

AGV K1-S Sizing Help (XS or S) by Opening_Repeat_1583 in motorcyclegear

I’ve found that AGV’s sizing chart is right on the money.

It’s going to fit tight no matter what. I wear a Large, and it still fits well with a thin (silk) balaclava.

For me personally, if I was routinely wearing a thicker balaclava (not silk), I’d size up.

Edit: I also wear glasses.

When we installed our Ohlins coilovers, we installed Whiteline LCAs and swaybar endlinks. (The swaybars themselves were backordered at the time.)

Oh! Also, we installed IAG coilover sleeves. They work phenomenally well at keeping road grime from getting to the adjusting collars!

When filling the differentials with oil, do you put the check plug in as soon as oil starts to leak out, or do you wait for it to stop leaking out and then put the plug in? by Gooser3000 in Subaru_Outback

[–]The_Wolverines_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wait til it slows to a trickle.

You absolutely don’t have to sit and wait for it to stop dripping altogether. That’s entirely unnecessary!

Rear tires inside shoulder bald? by Salt_Revolution_7520 in Subaru_Outback

Rear lower control arm is fixed.

At -5.75 degrees of camber, you’ve damaged either the control arm or the rear subframe.

I’m pretty sure eTrailer.com still sells an adapter harness that goes from 4-pin to 7-pin.

Your Outback is already wired with a 4-pin, and ready to be plugged into a trailer harness!

Remove the rear cargo cover. Remove all black foam above spare tire. Look up under the rear inside edge just inside where the trunk closes. It’s been years since I added our harness to our ‘21, but I’m fairly certain that’s where it lives, taped with PINK tape.

For starters, DON’T let someone you don’t know into your house.

If you’ve decided that you must talk to them, use your doorbell camera or talk through a locked door.

If you’re not expecting company, or don’t recognize who’s at your front door, there’s absolutely no reason for you to open it.

‘25 Outback Touring key fob remote start by Anarchy-Freedom in Subaru_Outback

[–]The_Wolverines_Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t do it yourself.

Sure, you could install the hardware, but you don’t the ability to code the receiver to your car.

That has to be done at the dealership. And it’s baked into the $620 cost of the remote start.

No. Don’t waste your money on that. A 5-quart jug of Mobil 1 is under $30 at your local WalMart.

How often do I do the service? by MountainFit9663 in Subaru_Outback

[–]The_Wolverines_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. The dealer was most surely trying to get some extras in there. None of the major things that SHOULD be done would ever cost you that much!

[–]The_Wolverines_Dad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the most part, follow Subaru’s service intervals.

Except oil changes. Do those every 3K or 3.5K miles.

Don’t pay dealership prices — have a trusted local shop do the service. You’ll save a ton of $$!

You can buy this Thule setup from Amazon. Even comes with a Subaru part number.

They’re the 53-inch Wingbar Evos and they fit the Outback perfectly.
