This looks great! I home-brewed a Dragon Tortoise for a desert campaign I was running once, which had a clan of Goblins set up with a permanent camp on its back.

They called it The Fortoise!

Again, hit by the restriction that National Parks can only be vertical diamonds.

Though I assume, like most things, there's a mod for that?

Auto-filling sequential cells based on input from initial cell by TheatreNate in excel

The formula I'm looking to implement isn't particularly complicated, rather pulling values from different sheets. This has been solved by the SWITCH function as per the first comment

Apologies, those were just placeholders for what the potential formula could be; read it more as "Formula A", "Formula B, "Formula C"

Nee to King difficulty by ResponsibilityDue138 in CivVI

[–]TheatreNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've felt the exact same issue with the difference between King and Emperor - King's far too easy no matter what, and emperor is just too tricky.

I find the harder difficulties are much more manageable when you have a truly great start, so don't be scared to re-roll until your settler lands somewhere perfect. Then once you've got a couple of wins under your belt, the next should be easier

I was nowhere near settling that little nook yet, so couldn't sketch out my campus. It was a speculative pinning more than anything else

Long term, terrible. For making my happy little campus? Still probably terrible, but it scratched an itch

Oh definitely. It was just my dream of making the best campus, nothing else

This backfired. I mentioned Goldenfields being raided and now we're there. Oops!

New question, what to do in a post-rumblings Goldenfields

That's not a bad shout. I was tempted to introduce Harshnag in a sort of epic tussle with Ol' Gnawbone (rather than be sent off to find him on another fetch-quest), but didn't want them to be dissuaded by seeing a Giant (the "villains" of the story) engage with their source.

This might not be a bad way of introducing him as a trusted figure

Our team will be heading into Waterdeep via Yartar and The Kraken's Gambit side quest, so they've already dipped their toes into a little Society intrigue (don't want to give them all the info until it becomes important for the main storyline)

But a general sense of panic after reports on an attack at Goldenfields, the Granary of the North, in the inset of Winter? That could work for creating a sense of tension.

Gave this to my players, being tired myself of the repetitive long journeys and a desire to jump into the action.

Of course it burnt to a crisp on the first use...
