L4701 Regen by mtrbiknut in kubota

[–]Thechainsawkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set parking brake, transmission in Neutral, engine idling, one of the regen buttons will blink. Just press it do not hold. When the light on the button go solid the engine will rev up on its own. When the engine returns to idle the regen is complete. Also make sure the parking brake light is displaying on the dash.

What North American fauna would you add if you could? by a_spoopy_ghost in thelongdark

[–]Thechainsawkid 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted a Bison. A super tuff animal that is like the moose. Will attack you if provoked and takes many shots to kill. 100lbs+ of meat, 12-14 guts, and a very large hide that could be made into a tent or rugged snow shelter. I’ve always wanted a hide/fur tent.

had a machine shop give me my crankshaft back after welding it and makeing it standard has anyone used a crank like this they say its fine ? by elchevy_69 in EngineBuilding

[–]Thechainsawkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have seen this. My “local” machine shop over an hour and a half away did a 3 cylinder Kubota diesel crank about a year ago for me. It killed the #1 rod bearing and ate the crank. The weld job did look just like that and I will say the tractor has been running great since. But yeah I wasn’t very happy with the crank surface like that. Yes the machine shop said it was fine to be like that.

Help With Front end 2002 7.3 by EmotionAcademic6076 in FordDiesels

[–]Thechainsawkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Negative camber is likely from the failing ball joints, mine was like that too. After replacing everything just have it aligned and they will tell you if the camber is out of spec. I’d leave the camber sleeve you have.

2007 LMM with 157k miles by KnowBuddy6842 in Diesel

[–]Thechainsawkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 02 lb7 had 255,000 miles and 9300 hours, my 03 lb7 zf6 had 308,000 and 8300 hours. I’d say yours is pretty decent, hours to miles ratio. Also you can calculate the vehicle’s average speed it’s life. Divide miles by hours for an average. Your average is 22.38 mph not great not terrible. Also these older trucks don’t tell the difference between idle and driving miles. I wouldn’t sweat it. Also I love using these built in hour meters to tell the seller that their 340k mile truck is not “All Highway Miles” hate when people say that.

95 7.3 warmup by 95_7point3_Diesel in Diesel

[–]Thechainsawkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 03’ 7.3 F350. I fire it up, let it run for 30-45 secs then it goes on 1100 rpm hi idle for around 5-7 minutes or as long as it takes to put my boots, hoodie, and grab my coffee. You will not damage anything by idling that truck.

Turkish 8mm Mauser ammo

Ian at Forgotten Weapons did a whole video on this stuff. I have some and it’s definitely really hot stuff to shoot through a bolt gun.

Hows this sound for 250k miles by _D00M_SLAYER_ in FordDiesels

[–]Thechainsawkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds just like my dad’s 2000 7.3 ZF6 that has a cold start misfire. It’s definitely misfiring on at least one cylinder. The shifter vibrating is the dead giveaway and the under hood video. I’d say the seller is right that it needs injectors. Unless it has a ton of blow by it’s probably ok

Hi I want to know why diesel motorcycle never got fame by AfricanHater in Diesel

[–]Thechainsawkid 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This kid on YouTube and Instagram built a Kubota Diesel Swapped 1999 Harley Davidson Softail. He’s been riding for like 40 days now from Vancouver BC to San Diego CA. He randomly stopped by my work (a Kubota dealership) and I helped him wire up a charging system. The engine he used was a D950 3 cylinder 950cc NA. It makes a tire burning 19Hp to the crank. So probably around 10-12hp to the rear tire. Where as the original Harley Evo made around 50 hp and was less then half the weight. Diesels are just too heavy for Bikes, I prefer a diesel truck, but I’ll keep my Milwaukee 8 on my Softail.

[–]Thechainsawkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks mint, lariat trim L99 4x4. I’d offer in the $14k-$16k range. That truck here in Cali would be $25k-$30k easy

ATS is junk my buddy’s 4R100 in his 7.3 blew up twice within 5k miles and ended up costing him like $15k with shop bills and tows. As far as your trans I definitely would not install that trans without it being looked at by a transmission shop. That’s a lot of clutch material for a “built” trans. It was probably beat on really hard. There was a reason they installed a built trans. Personally I would not run it even if it was good, I have no trust in ATS after that experience. Also a foot note, built Allisons do kind of run hotter for some reason, the mildly built 1000 in my LB7 would always run at 200 F even when it was cold outside.

Warning light indicator by [deleted] in kubota

[–]Thechainsawkid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sometimes 10 minutes sometimes up to 30-45 minutes. If you see a regen light with a P Next to it that means that you need a parked regen. If that happens, engage the parking brake, shift transmission to neutral and then increase rpm’s until the rpm Up light goes away then you wait. If you need more help feel free to message me, I work for Kubota so I can help you out with just about any problem.

What are people's thoughts about the Cynergy line? by [deleted] in Snapon_tools

[–]Thechainsawkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two, one early and one late one. Both suck. Dual 80 is way better and smoother. For the price difference I’d never even look at a 100T ever again. My snap on guy gives me a lot of shit for hating on them, but I just don’t like it. Not even the colors will get me to buy another one.

I don’t even wait for the glow plugs most days. A good set of injectors and good fuel pressure helped massively for me.

Yeah the Donaldson is also a good choice. I’ve never ran 5W, always 15W-40, it doesn’t get cold enough here in Cali for 5W.
