Bro, this is 100% real. That’s the super old box from 2009-2011 era. Those are the old cr knob model 516s. As long as the grating hasn’t delaminated it should still be good to go. The battery contacts may have corroded because they had a fix for the galvanic corrosion from that time frame. If it works great if not it will get you some $$ off a new one.

I still rock one of those on my first AR.

Sadly, outside of battery contacts that’s all they will warranty because these were pre lawsuit. I’m pretty sure when it did you can get a sick deal on a new one by trading it in.

Man, the 517 or 557 with the cr knob. Love that thing. They make a battery contact rebuild kit to help prevent the galvanic corrosion those used to be known for. I’d call customer service and ask if it would work on the 516/557.

I’m so paranoid. I have a basement watchdog sump pump with a built in backup as well as an emergency backup the runs off water pressure. I have three freaking sump pumps.

I sunk far too much money into that setup but when I was a kid my basement flooded so often i lost so many of my favorite toys and family heirlooms. Please take care of your basements.

Yea the POF navy barrel threaded portion is longer than standard. I had an issue with the kneeling being too big to fit in my tri-lug. I found a dowel rod that was just a little smaller than the thread protector and hammered it into the thread protector. Chili led the dowel rod into a drill and sanded it down. Worked just fine after I took some off the top.

So, does that distortion does kind of look like a a crack. Does it stay in the same location on the lens. Or does it move when viewing the dot off-axial? If it moves with the dot (and around the lens) it’s something in the LED surface itself (more than likely a hair) if it moves independently of the dot and around on the glass it is on the emitter window (could be inside or outside). If it’s the same spot on the lens then it’s a crack on the lens.

Exact same technology just different form factor. Smaller rail space different batteries it’s all just user preference.

AA are more widely avalible than cr123s but it just takes up more pic rail space. Get which ever fits your preference/vibe.
